July 2, 2013

Good morning! I woke up to a beautiful & sunny 76° day outside. Not normal for July in Texas, but I'm sure not complaining. Yesterday I went through the mail & got a couple packages, one of them a great knitted afghans book that I bought on eBay. Such beautiful afghans! I need more hours in a day. I have so many projects already that I never seem to get anywhere because I'm trying to work on them all evenly. I always want to add "just 1 more" project, but I know that's not really a good idea so I don't. I chatted w/ Andrew & George for a bit, & then had Rice Krispies for breakfast. I worked on my Broomstick Lace crochet & the FD got toned out to a mutual aid MVA in the next town after Pete & I had left for the store to get some needed items. I scrapped 3 projects last night. The Tardis afghan which was going to be literally 10' long & was just taking too long to make, the FD Quilt crochet afghan & the EMS Knit Wit Afghan. I didn't throw them out & someday I might pick them back up, but for now I need a break from them for a while. Yesterday's Sims game was the Nectar Maker game & my Sim Tony is in the university working on his skills & going to classes. This morning Pete went back to work & my schedule should be back to normal. I'll be starting a new Quilt crochet project that's smaller & has a more interesting pattern to work with. After taking the dogs out I loaded up Grandmother's House which was created by a talented other. My Sim Faith is in the university on an apprentice business award & is working on her skills & going to classes. Tonight is the city council meeting. I'm looking into buying season tickets for this years PHS football games so I can see all of Kyle's marching band performances. He's working so hard on everything & the least I can do is be there to witness his success! He's earned it through all of his hard work.

Have you been to the California beaches? They're not bad, but they're getting a little polluted in certain areas. One beach I know - today, the tide came in, didn't have the strength to go back out. -Johnny Carson 1981

Unlike your bathtub, the rings of Saturn remind us about cleanliness. And as we take summer baths to beat the heat, always be polite & ask 1st if the tub isn't yours. Leaving a dirt ring is bad manners so always carry a Brillo pad & Ajax. (In severe cases, use steel wool, P24-grit sandpaper, & a blowtorch.)
