Good morning! That stargate to the left is actually a wedding band & it moves! Only problem? Over $2k. I don't even have a $20 wedding band, so I'm guessing this one is out of the question. I wish I had a wedding band ... oh well. ANYway ... another busy day yesterday. This whole "never making it to lunch" thing is really starting to bother me. Lunch is the halfway point in my day. If I don't make it to that, it means that over 50% of what I was supposed to do that day didn't get done. I'm only ever doing the 1st 40% or so. I keep wanting to re-code my entire schedule so that it's all random. I mean instead of having a weekly schedule showing on screen, have a daily one & when I load that thing each morning, it randomly fills in each slot for the day w/ the exception of breakfast, lunch, & dinner. Those kinda have to stay where they are ... but the rest? RANDOM! That way when I only get 40% of my stuff done that day, it's not the same 40% I've been getting done every day ... & the 60% I don't get to? Not the same 60% I haven't gotten to in a MONTH. It would take a lot of coding, but I think it may just be worth it. The hardest part is the random coding for each entry in a table. THAT is going to be a pain in the ass. I would also have to screen shot the thing when it loads w/ the browser because just 1 burp of the browser & it resets & everything fills in different, making me lose my place. That would stink! Should I do it? Should I take today off & do nothing but re-code my schedule since the way I have it guarantees the 1st 40% but all but guarantees the last 60% never gets done? Did I mention this is going to take a LOT of code to accomplish? I don't even think I can do it as a table ... it may have to be in the form of frames. YUCK! That would look messy. It would have to auto-fill the date at the top, & what do I do about duplicates? How do I prevent them? Some things you just can't do twice in a day & if that pops up twice, then what? I'm doing it ... right now I'm completely reprogramming my schedule. THIS should be fun! Taking the dogs out 3X a day, that's still there ... Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner are still there, this blog is still there, but the rest? RANDOM! OK, back to programming now. And in case you didn't figure it out, I'm taking today off. This much programming is an all-day job. Especially when it's something I've never done before & I'm figuring it out as I go. Still programming & it worked on the 1st try. Right now I'm just updating my dinner menu selections, but the main daily schedule is already done & is a complete success! I LOVE IT! Some people (like Kyle for example), don't like change. They like to know as soon as they wake up in the morning what the day expects of them ... what they need to do that day. I, on the other hand, get extremely bored w/ the same routine day in & day out. That's why I had a WEEKLY schedule posted & each day was a different craft (if I got to it). NOW, I have 16 entries / hours in a day ... 9 of them are non-changing, leaving 7 that are completely random & will change every day when the page loads. Those 7 random items will each be chosen out of a master list of 57 items. Duplicates are possible, but that's OK. Everything in there can be done more than once, back to back, or at separate times during the day if it duplicates in the schedule. I can't wait to see today's once I upload it & then "officially" load today's schedule. What I've done so far today is correct for the schedule ... I took the dogs out & then started blogging. I had a short time of clearing out my Yahoo e-mail on my AT&T page, but that didn't take long. I've even cleaned up my tabs here in Firefox. Everything looks much better now! OK, back to programming. As soon as I finish my dinner menu I'm done programming for the day! DONE! PERFECT! Looks great ... now even if I don't get through 100% of it (as usual) it'll be a DIFFERENT bunch of stuff that gets done instead of the SAME stuff over & over every day. Phew! I feel better already! Of the tabs I've closed, facebook was one of them. It takes way too much time. I'll check facebook about once a week ... same w/ eBay, Pinterest, Ravelry ... they all got closed. Now all I've got as far as social media is Twitter. Suddenly that 140 characters or less thing is looking good. It won't take up nearly as much of my time throughout the day. I've still got facebook's app on my iPad Mini & iPhone 5, so I SHOULD receive messages & IMs. I also always have my AOL mail open & my other e-mail. OK, just went in & made some changes. I didn't like daily cleaning being only 1 entry, so I split it up into the 12 individual entries that it had in there & now instead of getting daily cleaning (all of it) only once out of 57 times, I'll get bits & pieces of daily cleaning here & there. The way the math WAS, I'd barely ever clean the house. The way it is now, I'll do some of it almost daily ... which is better than once every 2 months! Yep, I really like this new schedule. 1 day at a time instead of the week view that it's ALWAYS been since ... since ... wow ... since about '93. It's been a 2 decades since I've made this major of a change to the schedule. Tomorrow begins my new schedule, because by the time I get to starting it today, today will be almost over. It's already after 4:p & I haven't even eaten breakfast yet. Tomorrow is going to be fun though ... starting out 1st thing w/ the new schedule! Yesterday I got the mail, chatted w/ my ex, made cheese omelets for Kyle & I for breakfast, chatted w/ Andrew, chatted w/ Pete, the FD got toned out to a med call, I cleaned the house, surged eBay, checked facebook & took my game turns, the FD got toned out to another EMS call, I chatted w/ my ex some more, sat down & worked on my Interlocking Filet Stitch crochet, & board knitted a little bit before Pete got home from work. Starting w/ what's left of today ... no more working evenly on the projects. Since everything is spinnerized, I think I'll just work on whatever it picks. Should I still track my progress? Yes ... Ravelry needs that info. Spinner has a tendency to keep things relatively evened out. Yesterday's Sims game was Chappaqua & my Sim Fantasy is in the university working on skills & going to classes. Today's Sims game is Grandmother's House & my Sim Faith is doing the same thing. OK, University Life is starting to get boring. EVERY game I have is either IN the university or starts it as soon as I load up the game. NONE of them have graduated & started their life AFTER the university yet. Very boring considering how long this has been going on already, how many different games I have, & how long it will continue to go on in the future. I only play a few moves a day in each game, so 2 game weeks of the university can mean forever in real-time with just a few moves per day. It's like playing Monopoly ONE MOVE per DAY. How long would that take? About as long as it's going to take me to get at least ONE of my Sims out of the university & doing something "fun". Ugh! I do like the increased pay & the new job opportunities, clothing, & traits ... but damn! Over 100 games & everyone in the university for only a few moves per day ... I don't think I'll ever see regular game play again at this rate. :( I used to love playing Sims ... there was so much to do & so many different options. Now it's all mandatory ... go to class X 3, come home, eat dinner, shower, bed, wake up, breakfast ... repeat. Again & again & again & I barely get through 1 game day per real-life day ... so yeah, boring! At least my real life will get a lot more exciting now with this new schedule. Nothing is predictable anymore, which will even make this blog more exciting because I won't be doing the same thing, in the same order, day after day. Now you'll be as surprised as I am every day! YAY! This may even have other positive side effects such as more time for the FD again. It's been WAY too long, but when it's 4:30 & I haven't eaten breakfast yet ... well, that kinda shoots my entire day full of holes everywhere. Starting tomorrow that may all be better. Wish me luck!
