I woke up this morning to a facebook friend request from 1985. Quite honestly I'm not sure how I feel about this. I'm not even close to the person I was back in '85. I'm a complete stranger by comparison. People change ... but their core personality doesn't, so I guess I'm a little bit that 1985 person down at my core, but so much has changed since then. And what about the other person? Who are they now? How close are they to the person I used to know? I guess I'm about to find out, huh? This could go 1 of 3 ways ... either it'll turn out great (doubtful), average (hopeful), or it could turn VERY bad (I'm ready for that too, but I'm hoping it doesn't go completely south which is where it left off 27 years ago). I've
already read about 1/3 of my new book that arrived yesterday (1st pic) & I was right, it's a great book! George Takei is FUNNY! :) Another thing that changed this morning was my V2 e-cig deluxe starter kit arrived. Goodbye ash trays, smoke-filled rooms, lighters, & yellow walls! Goodbye tar & carcinogens. Caffeine & Nicotine are still here but the delivery method is now healthier for myself & everyone around me. I ordered full-strength & WOW are they strong! My cigarettes were full-strength, but not THIS strong. My next order will be for the next dosage down. Oh yeah, hello more money! These things work out to less than $2 a pack when compared to regular cigarettes! The deluxe starter kit came with enough vapor to last me a LONG time, 3 batteries (2nd pic), of which I have 1 black, 1 blue, & 1 silver. It also came with a 4th one that plugs in. SO ... I now have 1 plugged into the USB on my computer for use in my office where I am most of the time, 1 in the living room, 1 in the bedroom, & 1 hanging on a lanyard next to my truck keys that will come with me when I'm away from the house. I have a charger that's plugged into my keyboard, a charger for my truck, & a charger case that sits in my office & holds vapor cartridges & can charge a battery while I'm away from the house. I also have another case that just holds vapor cartridges & that one is parked in my desk. I'm pretty well set up, wouldn't you say? :) Yesterday was an insanely busy day. I'm a little angry that when I don't answer the phone, I get an IM & I answer that to say "I'm very busy, I don't have time to talk now", but it was important so I took the call anyway after stating that I couldn't talk long though. Well ... 4 hours later, I got not a damn thing done. I spent ¼ of my waking time on the phone & that shot the crap out of my day. I didn't even make it to lunch. I had a boiled egg for breakfast, cleaned the house, got the mail, surfed eBay, & tried to do facebook for 4 hours before finally finishing & knowing what was going on with family & friends. It was about then that Pete came home. Yesterday's Sims game was Sussex Valley. I didn't get to play much of it though because Sims play is directly related to how much I'm getting done. If I'm not getting much done, I'm not goofing off in Sims either. Productivity is rewarded w/ a little game play. Not getting much done? Not playing, either. What little I did do in the game was with my Sim Hazel, who finally traded in that pile of lifetime happiness points for the age freeze potion. As a vampire, she already had a very long lifespan, but now she's immortal. She's been going to class & working on her skills. She found out that there's 1 class she can't attend as it's an outdoor class 1 day a week & being outdoors in the sun for hours will kill her. I already lost a vamp Sim that way. She was a doctor & was sent out to the park to give flu shots. The sun killed her. This Sim attempted to go to class, but when she started smoking I sent her home immediately. So far today besides the blast from the past friend request & V2, I've taken the dogs out & updated the apps on my iPad Mini & iPhone 5. Kyle says he needs a ride to & from the college today, so today's schedule isn't looking promising either. My lifetime saying: "Maybe tomorrow." Kyle's 17th birthday on Sunday!
As we look back & survey the terrain to determine where we've been & where we are in relationship to where we're going, we clearly see that we couldn't have gotten where we are without coming the way we came. There aren't any other roads; there aren't any shortcuts.
Bring a note from Dr. Doolittle explaining your absence, & give it to your HR person.
Cheeks feeling flushed? Put on a bold color lipstick; a neutral shade will only make red cheeks stand out.
Conversely, the most useless gadgets around today are electric pepper mills & electric salt grinders. Do you need a reason to spend almost $50? If you do, these are for you!

In 1982, Chuck Ross retyped the screenplay to the Hollywood hit Casablanca, changed the title back to its original name Everybody Comes to Rick's, & submitted it to 217 agencies. Out of the 85 that read it, 38 rejected it outright, 22 recognized it as the movie, 3 declared it commercially viable, & 1 suggested turning it into a novel instead.

Pay close attention to dreams that involve pancakes, Brawny paper towels, or a toilet brush. It could be your subconscious trying to tell you something. Lay off soft cheese for 1 week, & don't watch any Dukes of Hazard re-runs until this phase passes.

in Chicago, an 82 year old woman is suing another 80 year old woman for stealing away her 90 year old husband, Albert. That's kind of a new wrinkle, which is what Albert was looking for. -Johnny Carson 1974
