Good morning! Yesterday was a good day & I'm still loving this new schedule. Always something new & different & I'm still being productive, in fact, more so than I was before! I got the mail, chatted w/ Pete, made egg salad for breakfast, neatened the end tables in the living room (Pete's side ends up collecting a lot of "stuff"), showered, took a look at some Access databases (4th pic), changed the bedding, put away my favorite project, the Bavarian
Crochet Caron (1st pic) to work on my Mile-A-Minute Crochet Red Heart (3rd pic), went to the store & picked up some groceries & Italian bread for lunch, took the dogs out, & then copied the pattern for the Mile-A-Minute afghan that I'm working on into Publisher format so I'll have a spare copy just in case anything ever happens to it. Yesterday's Sims game was Lafayette & my Sim Scarlet went to the university on a distinguished fine arts award & has been going to classes & working on her skills. This morning I've taken the dogs out & Kyle is STILL in bed. He's been asleep over 12 hours now & missed his ride w/ Pete to the college. I'm only going into town ONCE & I'm not going to sit there for 2 hours waiting for him. The deal was, Pete drives him there & when he was done testing he was supposed to call me to pick him up. Now he's screwed. He doesn't listen to directions, never got w/
Pete to plan this after I told him to, nor did he get our keys from Janis after she got home from work like I asked him to. He's spending too much time on his computer & is dropping the ball out here in real life. Not nearly as bad as his sister, but we're going to try to prevent him from going in her direction at all costs. I don't speak to Eve anymore after her retirement right out of high school for the past 2+ years, but I saw a post on facebook about a new book that's out & there was Eve commenting about how she just HAS to read that book. That's part of the problem ... that's ALL she does is read books. I would have been much happier if I saw a comment from her that said "I have to get a job so I can earn the money to buy that book for myself & read it on my days off." But of course the family is mad at me for calling her things like "lump" or "slug." Well? So what? THEY may be OK with
supporting her all her life, but I didn't raise her that way & I do NOT approve of her lifestyle choices. I'm allowed, whether they all like it or not. I'm also allowed to vent about it here. Maybe they DO have some shame about her choices, why else would they be hiding it? They brag & take pictures of their children at graduation & other birthdays, so apparently talking about your children online is OK, but only if it's "good"? Talk about biased & slanted media. If she does good, I'll talk about it. If she does poorly, I'll talk about that too. I do the
same with myself. I don't ONLY talk about the good. I also talk about things I screwed up. Fair & unbiased. If my readers wanted happy happy joy joy all the time, they'd be on the Disney page where life is beautiful ALL the time. None of us live in a dream. We all have ups & downs ... some of us lead a more charmed life than others, some of us seem to be behind the 8-ball more than others, but on average, we ALL have ups & downs. If you're going to write about your life, write about all of it. People who care will want to know everything & people who don't won't bother reading it. It's that simple. NO ONE is perfect. I know I'm not ... just a few days ago I was on here talking about my vices. Caffeine, nicotine, crafting (more than most people spend doing it) & FOOD. I don't work out, I don't eat right, & I smoke ... e-cigs now, but it's still smoking. I admit that. I also admit not wanting to quit
my vices. I like them. It's all about balance though. I try to balance out my vices w/ good things. Hard work. A clean house. Anything less would just be lazy & selfish on my part. I would NEVER expect to sit here all day w/ a Dr Pepper & an e-cig while crocheting all day & expect everyone else to clean up, cook, & just buy me stuff while I sit on my ass. The thought of not earning my keep is just ... unthinkable. How can the thought of EARNING what you want be completely lost to some? ESPECIALLY someone who was NOT raised on the welfare system! How can you have never held a job & still be walking around saying "I want I want I want!" like a 2-year-old? You're not 2 anymore ... GET A DAMN JOB! How some people can live like that is beyond me & disgusts me. Speaking of e-cigs, I JUST swapped out the cartridge on my desk e-cig. 1 cartridge is equal to 1 pack of cigarettes. It lasted me 5 days. Old way: 1 pack = $7 & lasted 8 hours. New way: 1 "pack" = $1.20 & lasts 5 days. Cha-CHING! I just bought an 80-pack & still have 20 packs of the current flavor (too strong, that's why I bought more already ... different flavor). That's 100 packs. They will last 500 days. That's what? A year & a half? WOW! That's not even counting the free 10-pack of flavored cartridges I got for free. Assuming I smoke all those too, we're going to go on close to 2 years just on the cartridges I have on hand. The flavor packs should be interesting. I'm not entirely sure my brain will accept smoking chocolate or cola. Very odd to think about. Today's Sims game is Exmoor & my Sim Daniel is still in high school. Based on his traits he's going to do well to join the military or law enforcement career when he gets out of high school & the university. The traits he's going to concentrate on in his spare time based on his traits so far will be fishing, gardening, athletic, handiness, logic, & painting. Mostly athletic though since it's useful for both career choices. LCFD business meeting tonight. I personally don't know if I can make it or not, but if YOU can, please do (assuming you're a member of the department). We're an all volunteer department & that means that the LCFD needs the full support of its members. If I don't show up, it's for a very good reason (like work or my son).

Family matters take precedence early in the week. Stay out of sight or feign a contagious illness until Thursday.

In 1631, the royal printers in London who were commissioned to print the Bible accidentally omitted the word "not" in the 10 Commandments, so it read "Thou shalt commit adultery." The so-called Wicked Bible was recalled & burned, although there are a few rare copies that have survived to this day.

"Inside out" says that if you want to have a happy marriage, be the kind of person who generates positive energy & sidesteps negative energy rather than empowering it. If you want to have a more pleasant, cooperative teenager, be a more understanding, empathic, consistent, loving parent. If you want to have more freedom, more latitude in your job, be a more responsible, more helpful, more contributing employee.
