✔ May 2, 2013

Good morning ... I think. I've reached my strike 3 limit. Monday I was too busy. Tuesday I was too busy. Yesterday ... WTF happened?! I was just saying how I hadn't been able to relax Monday or Tuesday & that I had JUST bought University Life & couldn't wait to play it, & MAYBE today I'd have some time to relax. HAHAHA! Nope. As soon as I said it everything went to hell in a handbasket. It's not looking good today either. It's already been 3 days of hell, I've already reached my snapping point. A 4th day will make me leave the damn state & get a motel room somewhere in Oklahoma withOUT my phone or ANY way to reach me & I won't come back until I damn well feel like it. A REAL vacation of nothing but myself in a tiny motel room with all my yarn & projects for at LEAST a week. I won't even check in ... there won't be any way to & I know if I do there'll be some "emergency" where I'll "have to" come home. Nope, not gonna happen. I've been pushed too far & worked too hard. I'M DONE!!! It's me time & screw anyone who thinks I don't deserve it. Everyone else has had my time for 3 solid days ... it's MY TIME NOW. MINE. My life, my time. I wasn't put on this earth to be used 24/7 by everyone else. Anyway, back to yesterday. I got the mail, then Pete called, the FD got toned out but Kyle was home sick, Pete called again & had forgotten something here at the house, so I drove out to Denton to bring it to him (2 hour round trip) & he wanted to go to lunch while we were out there (make that 3 hours), I got home & checked eBay & took SOME of my game turns on facebook but didn't get to take many or even check facebook because Pete called again & said he left his car keys in my truck so I had to drive back out to Denton to bring them to him (2 hour round trip ... up to 5 now not counting phone calls) & the day was over. Pete left work as soon as I brought him his keys. Nighttime routine & bed. No University Life, no crafting, no sanity left. 3 days straight of NO time for myself is more than I can handle. I don't care who you are or what YOU can handle, you're not me. You haven't lived my life, you haven't walked in my shoes, you haven't experienced what I have ... so you compare yourself to me if you want but there truly is NO comparison since your life & mine have been VERY different. There was a time when I could go days, weeks, months, years without ANY "me time". I worked ... I worked HARD ... I went through hell & came back. I've experienced loss, grief, & a raft of other things that I'm not going to even begin to talk about ... but let's just say it's been a lot & probably more than you're imagining right now. There's a reason I am the way I am & there's a reason I'm burned out & need more "me time" than I used to or that you probably need at this point. Age is a factor, past experiences are a factor, current conditions, etc, etc. Before you judge, know the facts. Since you don't know the facts, don't judge. My Sims game from yesterday (what little I got to play of it) was Beechwood Victorian & my Sim Liz enrolled in the University as soon as University Life finished downloading & installing. A mascot came by the house & dropped off a goodie pack with some freebies. She took the aptitude test & had NO skills anywhere. The only thing she scored a few points higher in over everything else was Communications. She was picked up in what looked like a U-Haul box van w/ her suitcase & when she arrived at the University decided to live in a dorm. Her Communications degree will give her a boost in the journalism, political, or fortune telling careers. Fortune telling?! Where did THAT come from? Working on her writing & photography skills will boost her grades. She was also given a Frequency Fun Mobile Radio Station for use in class & outside of class to help boost her grades. She can now conduct interviews & report on events within the university. There are new traits (Avant garde, irresistible, & socially awkward), new skills (Street art, science, social networking, & photography), social networking (there are now smartphone where you can share pics, text friends, etc), you can blog (HA! I can do it here AND in Sims now ... I can now blog about blogging), new deaths (Death by blund force trauma & death by ranting), you can now woohoo in a photobooth, new lifetime rewards (honorary degree, jock influence, nerd influence, rebel influence), new lifetime wishes (perfect student, scientific specialist, street credible, major master, reach max influence w/ all social groups, & blog artist), new clothing, hair, objects, parties, music, etc. There's even a bowling alley now. There are also new social groups ... jocks, nerds, & rebels. New careers include video game developer, art appraiser, & sports agent. So much to explore & so little time (literally). When Liz arrived at the dorm she chose her bed & then went to the University Meet & Greet where you can meet other students, your professor, & read up on your class schedule & degree. Liz received a text message inviting her to a kegger & since social interactions weigh in on your overall success & potential jobs after graduation, it was important that she accept. You see, it's not always what you know, but sometimes also WHO you know to land your dream job. She got to the kegger & the 1st thing she saw was another female student strip naked & scream "WOOHOO!" & run out the front door. Ooookay. Welcome to college. Keggers & streakers on the 1st day. She didn't stay long because it was getting late & she had class in the morning. She went back to her dorm & got a good night's sleep, woke up & showered, made waffles for breakfast, & then attended Cases in Theatrics. After class she studied on her smartphone for a bit. At some point she was dared by someone to go dumpster diving & accepted because it's relatively harmless & you can find some really cool stuff! Pete's phone woke me up early today, so I took the dogs out, postponed today's Bavarian crochet for machine knitting from Monday, Princeton Fire did this year's shattered dreams, our FD got toned out to a med call, & that brings us to now. I loaded up Marblecreek, a Sims house I built. My Sim is Pete & it's a fairly brand new game. Pete is still single & when the University mascot brought the goodie basket Pete took the test & scored very high towards the Technology (1st pic) major. He headed off to the University & unlike yesterday's Sim, rented a tiny house instead of staying in a dorm. The only thing left that I haven't tried now is a sorority / fraternity. As a Technology major, Pete will get a boost towards a career in the military or law enforcement & he should work on his handiness, logic, & inventing skills. He was given a Brain Enhancement Machine which is said will boost his performance if he uses it outside of class. I guess he should use it right before class? I guess I'll find out (I hope). Pete was also given a textbook called Motorology. All students are given a textbook, but in yesterday's game I didn't have the chance to realize what it was in my inventory. You can read the book or study from it. I started reading it but that didn't seem to help or do anything that I could tell & unlike other books, this one would take a VERY long time to read. Pete read it for hours & the little progress meter barely moved. Huge book! I think I'll study from it next time instead. Pete attended the meet & greet & so far that's it for today. IF I get to continue past this point today, I'll fill you in on the rest tomorrow. If there's one thing I've learned, it's to NEVER assume I'm going to do ANYTHING. If I say I am, circumstances usually prove me wrong (as they have the last 3 days in a row). The PLAN though, is to take the next 3 days OFF. Screw chores, screw responsibilities. I got steamrollered for 3 days. MY TURN! Crafting & Sims are the only things in my forecast for the next 3 days. It's called evening the score. I would prefer to have normal days with an equal amount of responsibility & relaxation ... but since life didn't want to play that way, neither will I. FUN TIME! PHHHHBBBBTTT!!!!! The FD will be at the Jimmy Buffet concert in Fairview on Saturday, but I'll be reclaiming what's left of MY all too short life & crafting all day.

1st Western movie ever made, a 46 second short called Cripple Creek Bar-Room Scene, is all about a barmaid spraying a drunken miner w/ water in a Colorado bar.

Kit Kat has 210 calories, but 1 bottle of Naked's "Green Machine" contains the equivelant of almost 3 apples, half a banana, 1/3 of a kiwi, & 1/3 of a mango, adding up to 280 calories. Fruit is healthy, but that's more than you would ever eat in 1 sitting. Jamba Juice has 220 calories. The lesson: Pay attention to calories per serving, even in nutritious foods. The grab & go snack with the least calories would be a Kit Kat.
