Freedom. The last of the children have left the nest & now it's just Pete & I. Just like it was back in the beginning w/ our future wide open in front of us. Where we go from here is solely up to us w/o any 3rd party influence. Time to rediscover each other. Yesterday I wrote Kyle an e-mail, got the mail, chatted w/ Pete & then got a reply back from Kyle. Kyle, like his sister, has left the nest never to return. They both made their choices. Our daughter has made the choice to be a lazy leech of a slug & our son is pretty much right there w/ her. Our son however, has the added trait of having a black soul. Some things can & should be forgiven & some thing cannot & SHOULD NOT be forgiven. When someone does everything in their power to destroy you, to tear you down, to rip your soul out & crush it ... the best thing you can do is be strong, stand up, dust yourself off, turn your back, & NEVER LOOK BACK. That's what I've done. Both of my children have decided that they don't want a mother, so that's what they have. No mother. Plain & simple. No regrets. I raised them, they stabbed me in the back, I'm done. Now before you judge, let me say that you do NOT have all the details. You either 1) Aren't a parent. 2) Aren't a parent of teens. or 3) Your children haven't chosen the path mine have & said the things they've both said. You simply cannot judge this situation because you weren't here. You didn't see how I raised them, you didn't see the choices they made as teens, & most importantly, you did not see what my son put in print yesterday & sent to me. Yes, I could post it here, but I've decided not to. Everyone who matters in my life has seen it. The people closest to me know what he has become. The people who are closest to me also don't hold back. If I had done something wrong, they would have let me know it. If my son was right about anything in that letter, they would have let me know it. So we move on, we don't look back, & our decision is final. As I said, some things cannot be forgiven & what was said yesterday ... well, it can never be taken back. There's arguing, & then there's deliberate cruelty w/ intent to destroy someone's heart. He failed. My heart is still in tact ... all he destroyed is his relationship w/ me. One day, as all children do, he'll see that I was right. It will be too late. It's already too late. It's been too late since yesterday when he hit send followed by block. His idiot sister did the same thing not an hour later. She has no right to make judgement because she retired right out of high school & has ZERO life experience. How can you judge when you never leave the house except to go shopping w/ other people's money? Oh well, they're both in my past now & they both will stay there until the day I die. Other family members & their friends can pull them through. As they both said, neither of them needs me anymore & I have ZERO respect for either of them. After my children were finished freeing themselves of ever having a real mother for the rest of their pathetic lives, I took a deep breath, had bran flakes for breakfast, chatted w/ Andrew & Darrell, & then went to work. I had no stock from Sunday, so I didn't go to the booth. I stayed here & processed as much stock as I could to be taken to the booth today. I did that until lunchtime, then took the dogs out, grilled a cheeseburger for lunch, then went back to work until Pete got home from work. Yesterday's Sims game was Fredericksburg & my Sim Elizabeth is pregnant & has been working on her charisma skill until the baby comes. She went into labor just as I saved & closed the game for the day. This morning I took the dogs out & tried to start up today's Sims game. My stereo was somehow off & Sims won't load at all. If this keeps up I'm going to have to booby trap my office. The stereo can't shut off on it's own unless the power goes out & not a clock in the house is blinking ... so ... yeah.

Empathic listening is also risky. It takes a great deal of security to go into a deep listening experience because you open yourself up to be influenced. You become vulnerable. It's a paradox, in a sense, because in order to have influence, you have to be influenced. That means you have to really understand.
