Good morning! I was very discouraged yesterday, but looking back now that the day is over, I did get a lot done. I guess when I want to get things done, I can't seem to do enough fast enough. I had gotten down because I only accomplished 20 things instead of 30. HA! I've REALLY got to chill. I expect more of myself than anyone else does & that's where I run into trouble. I push myself too far too fast. What happens then? Fast burn-out. Hoping this little business turns out to be a success, I'd like to NOT burn out on it, so I'm going to try to chill a little. Yesterday I went & rented our spot. The rent is weekly, but we paid for a month in advance. We're hopeful! Kyle & I then went to the college so he could get his college ID & college library card, then we headed to Office Depot to get a cash box & receipt books
for the new business, then over to McKinney Restore which I found out is closed on Mondays, then the other house to pick up our folding table to be used at the booth, then dropped Kyle off at the library, then came home & installed the PayPal Here app & applied for the credit card reader so I can accept credit cards at the booth right through my iPhone, then got the mail, then created the LizC864's Booth facebook page where I'll be doing all my advertising, FINALLY had a liquid Carnation Instant Breakfast at 5:30 in the evening, chatted w/ Pete, showered, picked Kyle up from band, chatted w/ Kyle, chatted w/ Pete, & then started loading the truck for work. I got the cash box, receipt book, & price tags loaded, then a couple sweaters (pics), & then Pete came home from work. With only 2 sweaters loaded for sale, assuming that was ALL I was going to take to the booth, I would have finally rolled out of the driveway at 9:p to head to work. THAT is why I was discouraged yesterday ... but as I said, looking back at all I got done yesterday, I didn't do too badly after all. Expecting to start a new business in an hour flat complete with inventory & display tables, chairs, & everything needed (ALL of it), is too much ... even for me. LOL! There's still more to be done. I'm not sure how much of it I can do today, because everything that's left requires Pete & he's busy with his job. I can make due with what I have on hand, but I'm a bit of a perfectionist ... I'd like this done RIGHT & done WELL. Still, I'll work w/ what I have for now. It's not all or nothing. I'll make due. Yesterday's Sims game was Modern Beach House & my Sim Faith Ware (2nd gen) has been TRYING to teach their daughter Jeanita Ware (3rd gen) everything she needs to know before she ages up into a child, but so far has only managed to potty train her. She still needs (at bare minimum) to learn to talk & walk, but Jeanita is on an opposite schedule from Faith & despite my attempts to correct that, they seem set on being on opposite schedules, making it almost impossible to train her at all. When Faith is awake, Jeanita is sleeping. When Jeanita is awake, Faith is sleeping or at work. There's nothing I can do about this. When they're tired, they sleep. If you force them to stay awake, they refuse to do things like learn to read when they're tired. I guess I'll have to do w/ the random trait the game gives Jeanita for my lack of training her properly as a toddler. It wasn't from lack of trying though. :) Today starts day 2 of the new business & work schedule. We went to bed late, so I woke up 2½ hours late. That means if all goes as planned I'd get to work at 2:30p instead of noon. At least that's inside work hours this time! There's still much to do though, as I said earlier ... so I may go to the booth or I may go out & take care of the things that need to be done still. It's up to Pete because I can't do the rest of it w/o him. I'll call him later when I'm ready & see which it's going to be ... booth & make due or out running for the rest of the setup items to make it better before we start. I placed my V2 e-cig order this morning ... I was halfway through my initial order which meant it was time to order refills. It will be twice as long before I order again, because instead of going through 1 of 2 boxes before refilling, I'll now have almost 3 boxes & won't have to refill until I'm down to 1 box again, so that means almost twice as long. YAY! These things last a LONG time compared to how long regular cigarettes would last ... they're better for me, cheaper, etc, etc. Love 'em! Today's Sims game is Grandmother's House & my Sim Faith Payne is in the university on an apprentice business award. She's been working on her skills.
Absolutely true, in the paper today: Police busted a brothel in N.Y.C. that they claimed to be a sex therapy clinic, & the payments were being paid by Blue Cross. Apparently Blue Cross didn't mind paying because the girl's hourly charge was a lot less than the hospital's. -Johnny Carson 1984
