★ August 27, 2013 ★

Good morning! After making bacon for breakfast yesterday I chatted w/ Kyle & Pete & then got to sit down for the 1st time after 7 days straight of work & got to relax w/ my Bavarian crochet (pic)! I can't wait until the booth is set up enough that I no longer have to spend every day on set-up & I can hang out there & crochet & knit. By then the temps will be much nicer, too! Since the booth is much smaller than the other one & since there's a pathway & a door in the middle of it, I need to buy a comfortable & portable chair. I can no longer leave a chair there ... there's just no space. I'm not sure what kind of chair I need. I thought 1st about a folding chair. I have wooden folding chairs here at the house, but spending 6 hours sitting on a small wooden folding chair just doesn't seem that comfortable. I'm old, I'm overweight, I want soft & comfy. LOL!  I started looking at camp chairs. There's a certain style that looks very comfortable & I think I've settled on those. Option #2 is a metal folding chair that has padding on the back & 2½" of padding on the seat. That looks pretty comfy if I can't get they style of camp chair I'm looking for soon at a decent price. Yesterday's Sims game was Padronale di Gerrard & my Sim Aaron has been doing nothing but working the gardens & barely keeping up. He hasn't had a chance to do anything else yet & his gardening skill isn't even going up because tending the garden only raises your skill after you at least have level 1 from reading a gardening book or planting your own seeds. So much waste. He would have been at level 5 already if he had the time to go to the bookstore & read 1 chapter at least before trying to keep these gardens from going to waste. Today begins my 2nd & last day off before heading back to work for the week. I took the dogs out & then loaded up Modern Mediterranean in Sims. This is a difficult household to play. There are 7 Sims & always 2 babies / toddlers / children at any given time. This happened not because a Sim had twins, but this time because my 1st gen Sim was an inventor & traveled back in time in her time machine & came back to a son. Apparently she woohoo'd in the past & created a child that wasn't there when she got IN the time machine. Now at this point she already had a baby ... so that's what started the dual family thing in this household. I've constantly had to move people out to make room for new generations. Every time 2 kids grow up, they get married & have children ... which means the 2 kids turn into 6 people once you add the spouses & children. In this game, the youngest Sim is a baby who was JUST born right before I saved the game last, the next youngest Sim JUST aged up into a young adult just before the last game save, but is married & pregnant, & the 3rd up the line is the mother of the baby who was just born & is the 1st Sim in the house eligible to go to the University. SO ... Piper Sisk was sent off to the university on a distinguished phys ed award.

Advice from others might only confuse the issue. Don't let doubt consume you. If sitting on the couch for 8 hours feels good, do it. Just make sure you have the remote control & a new bag of chips. (perfect for my day off)!

Fallen Astronaut is the 1st piece of artwork on the moon. It's a small sluminum statue of an astronaut carved by Paul Van Hoeydonck, left on the Moon by the crew of Apollo 15 to commemorate astronauts who died during space exploration.

Power Nap:
★ Featured in What's Hot! ★ The Ultimate Power Nap featuring Advanced Brainwave Entrainment that puts you to sleep at the start of your nap and then brings you to an awake and alert state at the end using powerful binaural tones. Nothing refreshes and energizes your mind and body like Power Nap.
*** The Science behind BrainWave Power Nap ***
BrainWave Power Nap uses a series of binaural brainwave entrainment programs, and frequency blends, combined with configurable, soothing ambient nature sounds to create the perfect restful, energizing power nap.
Power Nap uses the technique of brainwave entrainment through binaural tones to induce desired brainwave patterns in your mind. With binaural tones two different audible frequencies are played into each ear, with the difference between those two frequencies being the lower, inaudible target brainwave frequency. When your brain processes the two different frequencies the lower brainwave frequency is perceived. Through the entrainment process your brain will then match that frequency, thus inducing the desired mental state.
Head/ear phones are required for this technique to be effective.
*** Progressive Brain Wave Entrainment ***
Power Nap goes beyond just putting you to sleep. The goal is to relax you, take you to a brief meditative state, then put you to sleep quickly. When you near the end of your nap the program changes and gently brings you out of that deep delta wave state to a relaxed state, and finally to a state of mental alertness and focus.
*** Adjustable Brainwave Intensity ***
You can now adjust the brainwave intensity independent of the ambient background sounds. This allows you to set the brainwave volume to your comfort level and have your preference saved for subsequent use.
*** Power Nap Phases ***
* Phase 1 - Relaxation:
- Calming alpha-wave binaural brainwave frequencies to quiet your mind and help you relax.
* Phase 2 - Sleep (Longest phase):
- Lower theta-wave frequencies to take you to a dream-like state.
- A delta-wave program that induces delta frequency brain waves in your mind to help you fall asleep.
* Phase 3 - Waking:
- Theta-wave phase to gently bring you out of your delta-wave sleep.
- Alpha/Beta wave phase to bring you to a calm, yet alert state of mind.
- Gentle bells to complete the waking cycle.
*** Optimized Nap Programs ***
Longer duration naps include brain refreshing dream phases, while shorter ones focus on getting you the most restful sleep possible in a short amount of time and then bringing you out at an alert state.
*** Configurable Nap Durations ***
Select a nap time from 10 minutes to 3 1/2 hours and Power Nap will deliver a customized binaural audio brainwave entrainment experience tailored to that nap duration.
*** Configurable Ambient Background Sounds ***
Choose between Ocean Waves, Rain, Thunder and Pink Noise (a common background sound used with binaural tones). The ambient sounds do not affect the brainwave entrainment process and in fact help calm your mind and make the process more effective.
We all know the benefits a good Power Nap can have and Power Nap delivers what amounts to the ultimate power nap and ultimate mental recharge.
Power Nap is a great application to use regularly. It's an excellent application to use during mentally taxing times such as projects for work, caring for a new baby, or studying for an exam such as the SAT.
Power Nap is also an excellent application to use while commuting to home or office on trains, buses, and airplanes to block out outside noise and use the power of brainwave entrainment to get a restful, energizing nap.
Power Nap not only helps you recharge but helps your mind absorb and retain information.
If you have any prior medical conditions such as seizures consult a physician before using any binaural brainwave application.

Relieve swollen feet by soaking them alternately in hot water (for 3 minutes), then cold water (for 1 minute), for a total of 15 minutes.

Replace light bulbs on the desks of key co-workers w/ black lights.

Seeking 1st to understand, diagnosing before you prescribe, is hard. It's so much easier in the short run to hand someone a pair of glasses that have fit you so well these many years.

We have some good news & bad news tonight. Bad news is, that consumer prices here in Los Angeles are the highest in the nation. The good news is, that w/ the smog you don't live very long. -Johnny Carson 1979
