▪ August 23, 2013 ▪

Good afternoon! Late afternoon at that, it's 3:p already & here I'm just starting today's blog. It's been a wild 24 hours ... can you tell? Another perfect day yesterday. I became an Avon rep for the 3rd time in my life & this time it's for the booth (pic). I had a donut for breakfast, showered & went to work. I grabbed Kyle & dropped him off at the school, then went back to the booth to hang up all the sweaters I had processed the day before, came back & got the mail & then started processing bedspreads for today's booth run. I took the dogs out during my lunch break & then went right back to work processing bedspreads. When I finished I had a back seat full of stock to go to the booth today. Pete called from the hospital, he had scratched his eye (I've done that, it HURTS!) & they did what they had to do but he couldn't drive at all. I went to the hospital in Allen to pick him up, then went to the pharmacy in McKinney to drop off his prescription, then to Princeton to pick Kyle up from band, then we all stopped at Wendy's back in McKinney for dinner, then back to the pharmacy to pick up his prescription, then back to the hospital in Allen to get his car from the hospital, then home. We were all wiped out (along w/ most of my fuel) & Pete & I went to bed at 10:p. My Sims game for yesterday was Maplegrove & my Sim Michael is in the university on an apprentice fine arts award. He went to class, but then the game got stuck while trying to save so that didn't even take. Technically, he did nothing yesterday at all. The game never did recover or time out. We woke up FIFTEEN HOURS later ... at a little after 1:p. I guess it wiped us out more than we knew! I took the dogs out & went through the mail. I loaded up Glencove & my Sim Hazel Goldstein moved out of Glencove to her husband Andre's house when they got married. It's a VERY nice house. :) Hazel is currently pregnant & can't enroll in the university yet, but she will as soon as she has the baby.

Add a letter to the motivational poster so that it says: "There is no I in Teaim."

Bottle Rack, a piece of Dada artwork created by artist Marcel Duchamp, was thrown away by his sister who mistook it for garbage.

Counteract dryness by massaging feet w/ a lanolin-based lotion, kneading it deeply into your instep, then massage soles, heels, top surface & around nails.

Did you see this in the paper today? They made a survey of high-school students in the U.S., & well, it's kind of sad. Half of them couldn't identify or know what inflation was. Had no idea. They didn't know anything about the gross national product. They asked 1 kid about the gross national product & he said, "Preparation H. That's a gross national product." -Johnny Carson 1988

Empathic listening is so powerful because it gives you accurate data to work with. Instead of projecting your own autobiography & assuming thoughts, feelings, motives & interpretation, you're dealing w/ the reality inside another person's head & heart.
