Good morning! Yesterday I made a fried egg sandwich for Pete & I for breakfast & then Pete & Kyle went to work at the other house & I settled down to work on my ripple afghan. When Pete & Kyle were finished at the other house, Pete & I went grocery shopping & along the way Pete wanted to stop at Storage Wars Outlet to check it out. Then he said it would be worth it to give it a shot & see what happens. Rent an inside spot. Well, I'm ready! I had a long time last night while Pete was putting everything away that he brought from the other house. I made up my list of items that I'm going to sell (so far 10 different categories) & prices for each. I also made a list of items I'll need to set up & items I'll need while I'm there working. Then I completely re-wrote my schedule. A new work schedule. M-F Noon-6 I'll be working w/ a lunch break at 3. I'm starting today ... not the normal going to work routine, but the getting set up routine. I need some stuff before I can go there & then the 1st day there will be setup, & on the 3rd day, hopefully Wednesday I'll be ready to open for business! The wonderful thing about THIS type of work is that I can work AND crochet & knit. I don't have to give up what I love to go to work. It's PERFECT for me! I'm really excited & I really hope it works out. Yesterday's Sims game was Glenborough & my Sim Neo is in the university towards a Phys Ed degree & has been going to class. This morning I woke up excited to start my new work schedule & start setting up for the new job, but woke up VERY late & even at that cut my sleep short by 2 hours because I was excited. If I'm going to do this, we REALLY need to go to bed much earlier! I took the dogs out, chatted w/ Pete on the phone & our new landlord for the business. --- OK ... I JUST got back & it's 2:30p. As far as business goes, day 1 ... Monday ... : FAIL! 2:30p & I haven't had breakfast yet. I went to bed late, as a result I got up late, & have been running all day until now. At the current rate, instead of getting to work at noon as I'm supposed to, I'd get to work at ... 7:p. They close at 6. Again ... FAIL! Maybe this was a bad idea. My life is WAAAY too busy to have a job outside the home. This is why I don't ... there's simply not enough TIME! If the absolute best I can do is getting to work at 7:p on day 1 & that's assuming NOTHING else happens today that isn't pre-planned ... well, it's not gonna work. :( This requires too much effort on the part of OTHER people. #1) Pete would have to change his hours. Leave work earlier. Come home earlier. Go to bed earlier. Get up earlier. #2) Kyle would have to find his own transportation, & after today's episode on the road, he's not going to be getting any more driving lessons from me unless we sit down & have a REAL heart-to-heart. He got an attitude with me, drove badly, was speeding, argued with me repeatedly about the route we were going to take, & abused my transmission. He won't be driving my truck again unless we come to an understanding that IF he's behind the wheel of my truck again, he follows the rules of the road & the rules of MY truck!!! When you're driving someone else's very expensive vehicle & your license is dependent on them ... respect is a necessity. Today was unacceptable! Anyway, it was easy to forget what my life was like on a Sunday. Easy to forget that this would never work. I let myself get excited & as a result I got let down on the FIRST DAY. Noon - 6 ... great hours IF you're not the busiest damned person on the planet, which it sure feels like I am! ::: sigh ::: IF I ever manage to get there & get set up, come visit me at Storage Wars Outlet on 380 in Lowry Crossing ... M-F noon-6 & Sa & Su 7:a-8:p. I'm booth I-13. Obviously though ... not today. Anyway, before I got sucked out of the house for hours, I loaded my Modern Beach House game in Sims & my Sim Faith Ware managed to wake up & eat. That's it so far. As I said, busy day as usual.

Secret of staying young is to live honestly, eat slowly, & lie about your age.

"Seek 1st to understand" involves a very deep shift in paradigm. We typically seek 1st to be understood. Most people don't listen w/ the intent to understand; they listen w/ the intent to reply. They're either speaking or preparing to speak. They're filtering everything through their own paradigms, reading their autobiography into other people's lives.

Some interesting medical news in the paper. Now, I don't know what it is for sure, but apparently there's some validity to it. Some doctors or scientists have said that ... if you eat a lot of carrots, because of vitamin A, you lessen the risk of lung cancer ... Yeah, vitamin A in carrots possibly, they say, can reduce lung cancer. That's good news. Also, eating carrots helps you find your cigarettes in the dark. -Johnny Carson 1981
