Good afternoon! Yesterday was a productive day for both myself & my Sim. I worked on my hand knit sweater for a bit, cleaned the bathroom sink, dusted the bedroom wall & dining room misc decor, cleaned a shelf in the fridge door & took an orange juice break, dusted the living room lamp, mopped the entryway, blew the dust out of my knitting machine, fed the pets, & swept the bathroom. In the middle of all this I found something that my son had done wrong & confronted him about it. His response was to go off at ME & say the most horrible & cruel things he could think of including a bunch of lies. For example, he says my being hypoglycemic is only an "excuse" & that I "gorge" myself on sweets. Here's
the truth: I have junk food in the house because 1) I'm hypoglycemic & 2) I enjoy it. As for the quantity of intake, I'll eat ONE small teaspoon of chocolate icing a WEEK, maybe a slice of cake every few days, if there are Milano Double Stuff cookies in the house, I'll have 3 in a day (1 after every meal) because I REALLY enjoy them. Now, for my son's daily intake: He will steal the chocolate icing that he KNOWS he's not
allowed to have & eat the ENTIRE thing in ONE SITTING. He does this with anything that contains sugar. He'll steal the item, go into his room & wipe it completely out in one sitting. Yet "I" gorge myself on sweets?! He's a sugar junkie. He's not hypoglycemic, he just eats all the sugar he can get his hands on & washes it down with energy drinks or any other sugary drink he can get his hands on while he's up in town. He also
said to me, "Maybe you should try eating on a regular basis." Again, here's the truth: I eat 3 meals a day. Breakfast (although not much because I'm not a breakfast person, but I force SOME solid food down). Lunch, a decent sized lunch, not too big, not too small. Dinner, here's where I get most of my food for the day. I have a healthy appetite for dinner. I don't eat healthy, but I eat things like beef, chicken, pork, pasta, etc.
Now ... my son: He eats crap. He refuses to eat anything that requires ANY type of preparation. If he can't eat it straight out of the box (like cheerios or CAKE ICING), then he can't be bothered. He will wake up & grab a bag of chips & sit it on the counter & eat from that bag ALL DAY. Nothing else ... just CHIPS from the time he wakes up until the time he goes to bed. When the chips run out, cereal. Right out of the box
on the counter, ALL DAY with nothing else. When the cereal runs out, it's on to the next thing. Yesterday was a great example. He came home from school, extremely pissed at me for catching him after he stole ALL the chocolate icing, Dr Peppers, Doritos, & Ritz crackers ... went straight to his room & went to sleep. He woke up at some point & came out & ate a cinnamon roll for dinner (quite possibly his ONLY
meal for the day) & went back to bed. I should note that he got home from school at 3:30p. If he can't gorge himself on sweets & play on his computer every waking moment, he goes into an anger / depression & sleeps 24 / 7. He didn't do a single chore for the previous 2 days & finally did TWO of 6 of his chores yesterday ONLY because his dad got on his case. He has proven time & again that he has ZERO respect for me, he has said intentionally cruel & hurtful things to me on more than one occasion, & I'm convinced his soul is black. He puts on a good show 99% of the time, but if you get in his bad side, he won't just argue with you like a normal person does, he punches low & hard & does his best to tear your heart out & stomp on it. The argument can be about anything, let's say ...
chores. Instead of arguing about "chores", he starts saying terrible things like "You have nothing important in your life" or flat out lies like "you gorge yourself on sweets" when it's really HIM that has the gorging issue. Another thing about my son & sweets ... they're like a bad drug. It's very strange. Ever see a mean drunk? That's my son on a sugar high. If he eats sweets he turns into a black-hearted soul whose sole intent is to emotionally destroy anyone who opposes his wishes to do nothing but play games on his computer (which I might add he no longer has, I confiscated it yesterday & I don't see him EVER getting it back until he's 18 & moves out). He either doesn't do his chores or does them so poorly that it doesn't even count. I've had it. He's going to live here until he's 18, but I do NOT have to interact with him, do him any favors, or offer him any help. He burned that bridge during the next to last fight we had & yesterday he blew what was left of the bridge into tiny splinters. You can't repair emotional damage, especially when it was so cruel & hurtful. You can say you're sorry for some things, but he crossed a line he can't come back over. Here's another concern of mine: If he treats his own MOTHER this way, what will he do when his girlfriend finally pisses him off? What about a boss or a co-worker? We tried medication but he refused to take it. He would either "forget", or we would HAND it to him & he'd toss it out his window, on the floor under furniture, or out in the lawn, or we'd watch him swallow it & he'd still manage to hide it & then spit it out somewhere. We've tried teaching right from wrong. He refuses the programming. Is he so hardwired to be a cruel & hurtful person that he can't be changed? Is there truly no hope for some personalities? Anyway, once all that was over (it'll never be over, but you know what I mean), I checked the daily deals (monthly deals is what it SHOULD be called), turned the TV on for background noise, surfed eBay, went through the mail, took the dogs out, worked on my business & listed & mailed a bunch of stuff, checked facebook & came across a review for the little brother of a Logitech keyboard which made me look up its big brother & ended up falling in love with & buying the Logitech G19 keyboard (7th pic) ... isn't it beautiful! It should be here tomorrow! I took my game turns & then logged onto Chase w/ my iPad Mini to check my account, cooked a quick dinner for myself, delegated this week's monthly cleaning to Kyle (not that he'll ever DO it), & then hand knitted until Pete got home & then it was our nighttime routine. My Sim for yesterday was Victoria. I introduced you to her & the Modern Condo by Curtis Paradis yesterday. She made macaroni & cheese for dinner, went to bed, woke up & went to work at the military base, went home & showered, spent time with Hazel (her cat), married Jack Bunch, went to bed, got up & made waffles for breakfast, got pregnant w/ Jack, & for the 1st time during the game had time to do something on her own. She checked the paper for weekly events & there's an amateur Olympics on Saturday (had to make a note of that one so I didn't forget by the next time I played this particular game - 3rd pic). She cleaned the house (4th pic), made mac & cheese for dinner (2nd pic), read a handiness book (6th pic), showered, & went to bed. The next day she spent time with her 2 cats (Jack & Victoria adopted a kitten when they got married so Hazel wouldn't be lonely. The kitten's name is Mojo). She worked on her athletic skill, made waffles for breakfast, & read a pregnancy book w/ Jack. Back IRL I took the dogs out this morning & then worked on my bead banner for a bit. I created a new game in Sims, this one for a nectar making family. I decided they'd live on Cornucopia Island. I created Tony, a born salesman, green thumb, handy man who loves the heat & outdoors. His lifetime wish is to have a bottomless nectar cellar. He likes fish & chips, custom music, & the color orange. He's a Cancer. His furry companion is an American Longhair named Quinn who's proud, shy, & lazy. We started off in the summer with the smallest house on the island which still left him almost penniless & is the smallest house I've ever seen in Sims. Holy CRAP it's tiny! I didn't even have room inside the house for the cat's food bowl, never mind the scratching post & pet toy box. All that stuff ended up outside & took Tony's last dime. I hate using cheats, but when I do I go all the way. I needed to use the money cheat to afford to build a basement under the house, needed if you plan on taking nectar making seriously. The bottles gain more monetary value if they're aged in a wine rack in a basement as opposed to anywhere else. Cheat once, go all the way. I also bought Tony a nectar making machine & a couple of the best wine racks. While I was at it I went into testing cheats & buy debug & put seed spawners for everything I'll need all across the back yard (saving time & money that I would have had to save to go to Paris for all this stuff) & while I was there started him out with a garden full of goodies all needed for the nectar making career. When game play started, his 1st task was to tend his already present garden (5th pic). Since he didn't start from scratch by reading the gardening book & planting seeds, he gained NO gardening skill while tending the garden. Damn, going to have to plant the crappy grapes just to gain skill even though I have no use for crappy grapes because I've got the really GOOD ones. Trouble is, most of what he needs for great nectar he can't plant until his skill is much higher. I need to work on that w/ him. Tony then went into the basement to make nectar for the 1st time using the best ingredients he had available to him in his inventory from tending the brand new garden (8th pic). He used 4 Cranerlet grapes, 4 Cherries, & 2 Limes. With each completed production of nectar, he'll store 1 in the nectar cellar, sell 1 at the consignment shop, & drink 1. Future generations will have aged nectar worth a fortune! Tony himself won't live long enough to reap the higher simoleon rewards of the aged nectar he makes. Each new generation will sell off the nectar from the generation before while they make their own for the generation after them. The big money won't start rolling in until the 2nd generation is old enough to begin making nectar. Tony hasn't met anyone yet & not working outside the home & considering no one came to welcome him to the neighborhood, it could be a while before he meets a lady. Back IRL, Milligan Water meeting Monday evening @ 7:30p.

Expression "It's a dog's life" has changed from being a negative statement into a positive one!
On this day in 1982, hockey sensation Wayne Gretzky
of the Edmonton Oilers finishes the NHL season with 212 points, the
first and only player in NHL history to break the 200-point barrier.
A
hockey prodigy, Gretzky turned pro at 17 and joined the Indianapolis
Racers of the World Hockey Association (WHA). The Racers traded Gretzky
to the Edmonton Oilers, who became part of the National Hockey League
(NHL) after the WHA folded in 1979. Gretzky quickly established himself
as a dominant force in the NHL. During his first full season with the
Oilers, 1979-1980, he won the Hart Memorial Trophy for the league’s most
valuable player, an award he would receive a record nine times in his
career. Also that year, Gretzky became the youngest NHL player to score
50 goals in a single season. The following season, Gretzky, nicknamed
“The Great One,” won the first of seven consecutive scoring titles with a
then-record 164 points. That year, he also broke Phil Esposito’s record
of 152 points and Bobby Orr’s record of 102 assists in one season. On
February 24, 1982, in a game against the Buffalo Sabres, Gretzky scored
his 77th goal of the season and crushed Phil Esposito’s record of 76
goals, set during the 1970-1971 season. Less than two months later, on
April 4, Gretzky finished the season with 92 goals and 120 assists for a
total of 212 points, becoming the only player in NHL history to record a
200-point regular season. And it would not be the last time for
Gretzky: He went on to score 205 points in the 1983-1984 season, 208 in
the 1984-1985 season and 215 in 1985-1986. Only Mario Lemieux has come
anywhere close to Gretzky’s record, with 199 points in 1988-1989.
Gretzky
continued to set records during his years with the Oilers, in addition
to helping them win the Stanley Cup four times, in 1984, 1985, 1987 and
1988. In July 1988, Gretzky married American actress Janet Jones, with
700 guests in attendance, at what was labeled Canada’s Royal Wedding. In
August of that same year, Oilers owner Peter Pocklington, in need of
cash, traded Gretzky to the Los Angeles Kings. The trade was a blow to
many Canadian hockey fans, some of whom asked their government to
intervene and block the trade. Fans were critical of Pocklington, as
well as Gretzky’s new wife, who they believed wanted to be in Los
Angeles for her career.
Gretzky’s years with the Kings generated
lots of excitement, although he never won a Stanley Cup with the team.
He went on to play for the St. Louis Blues during the 1995-1996 season
and then spent the last three years of his career with the New York
Rangers. When Gretzky retired in 1999, after 20 seasons in the NHL, he
was widely considered the greatest player in the history of hockey. In
February 2000, the NHL retired his jersey number--99.
