➜ April 16, 2013 ★

Good morning! Yesterday was insane. I was in the middle of blogging & we got toned out to a med call. My 1st thought was how every time this happens, the entire day is shot. Not because of the med call, but because that's usually just the beginning. It's really weird ... either a day is great or everything happens at once. Yesterday was the everything happens at once day & it lasted ALL day. I went on the med call, came back home & was here maybe FIVE MINUTES when Kyle called saying that an
issue we've been dealing with for MONTHS concerning the school has gotten worse, but the great news? Kyle got the entire thing recorded. HA! A teacher has been giving Kyle a very hard time about something that belongs to the school & was stolen off of school property, but Kyle is somehow responsible for. It's kinda like "your" desk at school. It's not YOUR desk, but you sit at it every day during class. It's
assigned to you for the school year. Again, it's not "your" desk ... you don't own it. If someone steals that desk out of the classroom, who is responsible for it? The school owns it. It was stolen out of the classroom on school property. Yet since it was assigned to YOU for the year, the school tries to say it's YOUR responsibility to replace it at YOUR cost?! Wait, WHAT?! Well, that's what's been going on here. Not with a desk, but with a piece of school property that was assigned to Kyle for the year. He was given the riot act when it was assigned to him about how HE is responsible for it & how if anything happens to it HE will have to pay for it (we're talking a couple hundred dollars here). To be safe, Kyle did NOT want anything to happen to it so he left it in the school. Not just in the school, but in the classroom it was associated with. In fact, not just in that classroom, but in the back classroom OFF of that classroom that is a private area where no one is supposed to go other than the students in that particular class. The next day, the item was GONE. This happened back in November or so. Since then it's been a war. The teacher upon finding out the laptop was gone DEMANDED that Kyle either give the laptop back (he didn't have it), hand over the cash value (a couple hundred dollars), OR hand him his personal laptop (worth DOUBLE the amount) IMMEDIATELY. Uhhh ... no, no, & no. After this had gone on for a while we finally told Kyle to go to the principal. This was getting out of hand. The principal knew NOTHING of the stolen item. You mean this teacher didn't even report to the school that expensive items were stolen out of his classroom?? The main office was pissed. Things got worse & we told Kyle to call the police & report the item stolen even though it wasn't his item to begin with but since HE was being blamed. The police knew nothing of the stolen items either. This teacher didn't tell ANYONE. No report filed with the school OR the police. And we're not just talking about this single item anymore, apparently SEVERAL expensive items had been stolen from this teacher's room over a short period of time. Long story a little shorter ... Kyle had to drop that class because tensions between that teacher & himself made the environment too uncomfortable. This teacher is NOT liked by students. My daughter, who has graduated a couple years ago, REALLY dislikes that teacher. He intimidates all his students & other children who have had a problem with him will NOT stand up against him with Kyle due to fear. We're back to that intimidation problem. So now here we are approximately 5 months into this whole mess & yesterday Kyle received word that the final decision has come down from the office ... after saying that he wouldn't be responsible for it & that they agreed with my son, they all, 1 by 1 after speaking to this teacher, changed their decision. He's now officially responsible for the item. He was told not to talk to the teacher about it. Nope, we want this recorded. Kyle set up a recording & walked up to that teacher to ask him about the item & his responsibility for it (just to clarify). With the recording device running, this teacher told Kyle that he is responsible for the item, that he "doesn't believe any if his crap" that he didn't steal the item himself & in fact, once he had left the class things stopped disappearing. In other words, my son is being accused of being a liar & a thief of not just the one item, but THREE of these expensive items & other misc. stuff! BTW, at the time my son left this class, so did 3-4 other students! Could have been any of them, NOT just my son. The teacher also went on to clearly state that until he gets the cash for the item, he WILL hold his transcript & my son will NEVER go to college. Well allrighty then ... that's all we needed to hear. Let me be clear about something. We're not those parents that says "not OUR angel!" No, we know our son. We know he has faults. We know what he's done wrong. We also know when he's lying or when he's absolutely telling the truth. He is NOT guilty of what this teacher has accused him of & I find it very convenient for the teacher that he used Kyle's past wrongdoings to pin all this crap on HIM. Yes, Kyle has done wrong in the past & he's human, he will do wrong again in the future. But he did NOT do this particular wrong! In fact, this teacher has publicly embarrassed our son & publicly smeared his reputation by stopping him in a crowded hallway & searching him looking for stolen items which he did NOT have. Yet this teacher persists in wanting to blame him for everything that turns up missing. This teacher has crossed many lines. Blackmail, intimidation, slander ... shall I go on? I called Pete & told him about what happened & how it was all recorded. Pete said to drop everything & go pick Kyle up from school IMMEDIATELY before something happens to that recording. The phone could suddenly "disappear" or get broken, the recording could "accidentally" get deleted, etc. I dropped everything & raced up into town & picked Kyle up. We came home & pulled the recording off of his phone & e-mailed it to half a dozen people in several states. Pete came home from work & drove to the local P.D. to take action. The local P.D. wouldn't even take the report. The school is involved & I'm guessing they want no part of attacking the school legally. We need to take it to the county level. It's nothing against the local P.D. .... they don't really have a choice here. We don't want to get anyone on the local P.D. fired over this if they help us by doing their job. If we run into a similar problem at the county level, we'll take it to the state. Whatever it takes ... but this teacher is wrong & we won't let him bully & threaten our son like this over something he did NOT do. While we were all up in town we grabbed a snack & then headed back for my BOA meeting last night which took a record long time for a BOA meeting & was very frustrating due to the circumstances of the whole thing. We went to Domino's for dinner & we finally got home at 9:30p. My day out of the house started with the med call at noon. 9½ hours. See what happens when I stop what I'm doing & leave the house? 9½ HOURS! I wanted to at least relax & check facebook & take my game turns & then we watched the 2 hour season finale of Dallas & went to bed somewhere around 4 in the morning. I'm exhausted & have a headache from lack of sleep & I STILL didn't get to process anything from my inbox, work on my Website, check monthly, or go through my AOL mail which has been skipped SO many times that there are about 7,000+ e-mails waiting in there. This is ridiculous. I don't work. I'm a housewife. WHY THE HELL DO I HAVE NO TIME FOR MYSELF?! WHY THE HELL DO I HAVE 7,000+ E-MAILS BACKED UP?! WHY IS *MY* LIFE ***NOT*** "MY" LIFE?!?! Because of all the things in my life, I only get to do each thing 1 hour a week. Do you know how many e-mails there will be SEVEN days from now because I didn't have a chance to clear some last night? Pete just says "do it today instead." Yeah, & what about all the things I'm supposed to do TODAY that won't get done again until NEXT Tuesday?! Yes, I'm angry & frustrated. I've long since passed the possibility of a "daily" schedule. I'm up to weekly now & thinking I may even have to go to a monthly. There are so many things I need & want to do, that it takes a full week to get them all in. If I miss something today, it's going to be a WEEK before I can even hope to have another shot at it. Things that ARE daily are the most important ones like cleaning the house, showering, sleeping, taking care of the pets, etc. This blog is the only non-mandatory item in the daily list. I do this daily so my head doesn't explode. I need an outlet. This blog saves me the cost (both financial & physical) of medication. LOL! Everyone needs an outlet. This is mine. Anyway, in between all of the insanity of yesterday & played a minute of Sims here & there & my Sim actually had a pretty good day. We started in the Row House Apartments game with Ugene Boston. He attended graduation & then went home & made mac & cheese for lunch & called his girlfriend Kristen Chen. She was still in high school so their romance is on hold. When she went home he went to bed & in the morning made pancakes for breakfast & went to work at the hospital (he's going to be a doctor). As soon as he got home from work he invited Kristen over again & she was finally out of high school. They married & moved to her house, the huge & beautiful 7 bedroom mansion called Mediterranean Villa (3rd pic). They're now pregnant & starting their new life in this beautiful home. Ugene made spaghetti with veggie sauce for dinner & they went to bed. When Ugene woke up he called the shelter & adopted am American Foxhound puppy named Luna to keep their dog company. He read the Gift of Life for his job, made a tofu dog for lunch, cleaned the house, paid the bills, spent time with the pets, went skinny dipping in their pool, showered & went to bed. A couple game days in I noticed that this was a pre-Seasons game, so I started them out in the fall. This morning I'm hoping for a much better day. I took the dogs out, checked my AT&T page & decided to go through the bookmarks I have saved on there. I noticed the DirecTV bookmark & remembered that I had been thinking about upgrading to the new Genie system that they have now. Nope. Can't do it. I can't upgrade until 3 days from now. Really? You're going to make me wait until Friday? Ugh. I decided to play my Lexington game, a nice home built by a talented other that I placed in Appaloosa Plains a while back. My 2nd gen Sim is Chet Fox Jr. So far today he's done his homework & had a hamburger for dinner. Tonight is the LCFD Business meeting, but there's absolutely no way I can make it. I need more hours in a day. :(

An earthquake (also known as a quake, tremor or temblor) is the result of a sudden release of energy in the Earth's crust that creates seismic waves. The seismicity or seismic activity of an area refers to the frequency, type and size of earthquakes experienced over a period of time. Earthquakes are measured using observations from seismometers. The moment magnitude (or the partly obsolete Richter magnitude, numerically similar over the range of validity of the Richter scale) of an earthquake is conventionally reported, with magnitude 3 or lower earthquakes being mostly almost imperceptible and magnitude 7 and over potentially causing serious damage over large areas, depending on their depth.

In 19th century America & Europe, fainting couches were popular, especially in houses with stairs. They were usually put on the top landing to catch women who fainted for lack of breath after climbing up the stairs in tight corsets.

Quit waffling on your decisions. Washing your hands can help you stop questioning a decision. Cleansing appears to remove not just physical residues, but 'mental' residues, such as the concern about whether one made the right choice.
