Good morning! Busy day yesterday. I got the mail, cooked bacon for breakfast & talked to our Chief (congrats Chai on getting your EMT!), had knit for a bit, did 4 loads of laundry, processed another book from my inbox, dusted the bar stool, cleaned the stove & TVs, mopped the kitchen, dusted my PC, fed the pets, & swept the back porch. I checked for daily deals, but I'm starting to wonder why they call them "daily" when it's the same stuff every day since I started this last week. I turned the TV on for some background noise in my office & ended up half watching License to Drive while I was working, I surfed eBay, took the dogs out, & then went to work on our business setting up additional e-mails for sales, info, aliases for Pete & I so they can e-mail Pete OR Peter & it
still goes to the same inbox, etc. I had just finished after 2 hours & managed to clear out unsold items from my eBay business & get just 2 items listed before Pete got home w/ the chicken I asked for, so I made stuffing & we entered into our nighttime routine. In Sims, Misty threw a party, showered, spent time w/ her hubby, & then went to bed. When she woke up the next day she made pancakes for breakfast (took
3 tries because she kept burning them), gardened, cleaned the house which took most of her day & energy because it's a huge 2-story house with 5 people & 4 cats, showered, made pancakes for breakfast again, & went to bed. It was nice playing a different family, I'm thinking maybe I can load up a different game EVERY day instead of only playing the Dream Home game w/ Sim-Pete & my Sim-self? Hmmm ... you
know what? I'll do it. It's not like I ever get to play Sims like I used to where I just sit down & play it for a couple hours or so. See what happens when I never can find the time to sit down & do the ONLY thing in my life that's not productive? I MAKE a way to do it. :) This morning I took the dogs out & checked AT&T. Now I believe today I'll play Maplegrove (2nd - 4th pics). This would go so much faster if I chose to play a game
already in progress, but Maplegrove hasn't even been set up yet which means choosing a town, creating a Sim, etc. At least it'll be more interesting game play for me & more interesting reading for my Sim playing readers because instead of a mirror of my & my day, my Sim will be doing completely different things than me. Maplegrove will be placed in the city of Bridgeport & it'll be winter in this game. I created Michael (1st
gen). Michael loves the heat, is an animal lover, over emotional, a great kisser, & a savvy sculptor. His lifetime wish is to be a Descendent of da Vinci which means he must master the inventing, painting, & sculpting skills. Michael's favorites are vegetarian fish & chips, custom music, & the color red. He's a Pisces. His furry companion is Oscar, a Pit Bull Terrier who's hydrophobic, independent, & piggy. Michael
started out by getting on the computer to meet someone (5th pic). He met Beau Merrick, a vampire. After that he decided to start working on his skills. Problem, there are no skill items in the house. I needed to purchase a sculpting station, an easel & an inventor's table for him. I looked for a place to put these items & although the house is large enough, there was no room to put anything additional of that size. I had no choice but to put these items outside for now. While I was looking for a place I noticed that the 2nd floor had beautiful large upper decks both front & back but no way to access them. I added 3 glass doors, 1 in each bedroom to access these beautiful decks. Then I created a skills area for Michael on the side of the house (6th pic). I blew out 3 sections of fence so Michael would have access to the walkway that leads right to that section of the lot, put down brick paving that matches the paving in the back yard for the patio & pool area, added lighting to the fence posts & on each side of the door that I added at the end of the hall to access this area, added stairs & railings to the area, & then purchased & placed the 3 items Michael needs to complete his lifetime wish someday. Luckily, since Michael didn't choose a career as a lifetime wish, all 3 of these skills will produce income when he sells the items he creates. Michael then started working on his sculpting skill (7th pic). Back IRL, City Council Meeting tonight @ 7.
According to the papers, guess who might run for President in 1988? Lee Iacocca for president. The Chrysler president Lee Iacocca is giving serious consideration, according to the papers, of running for President. Might not be a bad idea, you know? He could give the country a 4-year guarantee. Or 50k promises, whichever comes 1st.
As soon as there's life, there's danger.
Blue whale's mouth is so large that it can hold 90 tons of food & water. Its tongue is so big that it's actually heavier than an elephant. Yet, despite all this, the blue whale's throat is so small that it couldn't swallow a beach ball.

I believe that we're embryonic, that we can develip & release more & more potential & develop more talents. Highly related to this principle of potential is the principle of growth - the process of releasing potential & developing talents, w/ the accompanying need for principles such as patience & encouragement.

It's a great day to be productive!
Of the most dangerous creatures in Africa, the mosquito is the most dangerous creature, killing over a million Africans each year by spreading disease w/ their deadly bite. Ouch! Maybe I'll safari in Disneyland instead!
On this day in 2005, John Paul II, history's most
well-traveled pope and the first non-Italian to hold the position since
the 16th century, dies at his home in the Vatican. Six days later, two
million people packed Vatican City for his funeral, said to be the
biggest funeral in history.
John Paul II was born Karol Jozef Wojtyla in Wadowice, Poland, 35
miles southwest of Krakow, in 1920. After high school, the future pope
enrolled at Krakow's Jagiellonian University, where he studied
philosophy and literature and performed in a theater group. During World War II, Nazis
occupied Krakow and closed the university, forcing Wojtyla to seek work
in a quarry and, later, a chemical factory. By 1941, his mother,
father, and only brother had all died, leaving him the sole surviving
member of his family.
Although Wojtyla had been involved in the church his whole life, it
was not until 1942 that he began seminary training. When the war ended,
he returned to school at Jagiellonian to study theology, becoming an
ordained priest in 1946. He went on to complete two doctorates and
became a professor of moral theology and social ethics. On July 4,
1958, at the age of 38, he was appointed auxiliary bishop of Krakow by
Pope Pius XII. He later became the city s archbishop, where he spoke out
for religious freedom while the church began the Second Vatican
Council, which would revolutionize Catholicism. He was made a cardinal
in 1967, taking on the challenges of living and working as a Catholic
priest in communist Eastern Europe. Once asked if he feared retribution
from communist leaders, he replied, "I m not afraid of them. They are
afraid of me."
Wojtyla was quietly and slowly building a reputation as a powerful
preacher and a man of both great intellect and charisma. Still, when
Pope John Paul I died in 1978 after only a 34-day reign, few suspected
Wojtyla would be chosen to replace him. But, after seven rounds of
balloting, the Sacred College of Cardinals chose the 58-year-old, and he
became the first-ever Slavic pope and the youngest to be chosen in 132
years.
A conservative pontiff, John Paul II s papacy was marked by his firm
and unwavering opposition to communism and war, as well as abortion,
contraception, capital punishment, and homosexual sex. He later came
out against euthanasia, human cloning, and stem cell research. He
traveled widely as pope, using the eight languages he spoke (Polish,
Italian, French, German, English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Latin) and
his well-known personal charm, to connect with the Catholic faithful, as
well as many outside the fold.
On May 13, 1981, Pope John Paul II was shot in St. Peter s Square by a
Turkish political extremist, Mehmet Ali Agca. After his release from
the hospital, the pope famously visited his would-be assassin in prison,
where he had begun serving a life sentence, and personally forgave him
for his actions. The next year, another unsuccessful attempt was made
on the pope s life, this time by a fanatical priest who opposed the
reforms of Vatican II.
Although it was not confirmed by the Vatican until 2003, many believe
Pope John Paul II began suffering from Parkinson s disease in the early
1990s. He began to develop slurred speech and had difficulty walking,
though he continued to keep up a physically demanding travel schedule.
In his final years, he was forced to delegate many of his official
duties, but still found the strength to speak to the faithful from a
window at the Vatican. In February 2005, the pope was hospitalized with
complications from the flu. He died two months later.
Pope John Paul II is remembered for his successful efforts to end
communism, as well as for building bridges with peoples of other faiths,
and issuing the Catholic Church s first apology for its actions during
World War II. He was succeeded by Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger, who became
Pope Benedict XVI. Benedict XVI began the process to beatify John Paul
II in May 2005.
