Nothing new or exciting since my last post. I started a new afghan & it's going to be a Christmas afghan. I posted a pic of a piece of the 1st panel on facebook. Nice red, white, & green yarn with tinsel sparkle wrapped around it. Because of the texture & thickness, I was afraid it may not work in the machine, but not only did it work, but it just slid through there easier than most yarns. It was great! I have enough for 1 more panel & those will be the outer edge panels. Then I'll switch to solid white for the next set of panels just inside those. I played my Chestnut Hill house in Sims last night. That's 1 of the games that gave me twins. The twins are teens now & have each met their future mates. Liz is going to marry Jimmy Gagnon after graduation & their child will be named Kira or Kyle. her lifetime wish is to be a Visionary, which means hitting level 10 in both the painting (she's well on her way to finishing that soon) & the photography skills. Now if I just knew HOW to learn the photography skill! This is going to be a tough one. Lewis has med Laura Russell & their child will be Laura II or Lewis Jr. His lifetime wish is to have the Perfect Aquarium. He needs to fish & catch 15 different perfect species of fish & have each in a fish bowl in his lifetime. As the fishing skill improves, so do the quality of his catches. So far he already has 1 perfect fish. Uh oh ... I forgot to feed the fish! I forgot you need to do that. LOL! I'll make a note on my sheet for this game ... FEED FISH! 14 to go. This house is on the island of Cornucopia & it's a beach house, so fishing is really easy. Walk out the back door & go fishing in the ocean! Lots of different species there compared to a pond in one of the small towns & a real time saver since he doesn't have to travel all the way across town to get to the park or river. Dad has reached level 10 of the Business career & now has his own limo. WTG Dad! Mom is now Assistant Chief on the FD & is just 1 level away from Chief which means she gets her own fire engine! I'm going to have to figure out where to park that in the yard ... it won't fit in the garage. LOL! The pic is of her leaving a large house fire where she had to put out the fire, break down 2 doors & save 2 Sims from certain death. She got an award for that one ... it's waiting at city hall for her when she has time to go pick it up during business hours.
I did exactly what I said I would do. Pete got home, we ate dinner, & I immediately took the melatonin & a sleeping pill. We watched 20 minutes of TV & went to bed. BAM! I was out. Finally! This means I actually woke up ON TIME today AND am not completely wiped out exhausted. 1st response Photography was on PHI Air Med 2 yesterday when our dept got toned out to the fatality accident on 380 & got some amazing aerial photos as well as the usual ground photos. Milligan Water meeting Monday.

Hey, would-be college students. Don't spend $150,000 to get a job that pays $27,000. Depending on the industry, you could strugle for many years until you get your income up. And it may be you never make the kind of money that justifies what you spent to get there.

If you're a parent of a teen, you've probably noticed the more you talk at him or her, the less he or she listens. Instead of talking at your young adult, ask questions & then listen & give feedback. By listening to your teen, you're teaching a vital effective communication skill.

Tupac Shakur is shot (1996):
Actor and hip-hop recording artist Tupac Shakur is shot several times in Las Vegas, Nevada, after attending a boxing match. Shakur was riding in a black BMW with Death Row Records founder Marion "Suge" Knight when a white Cadillac sedan pulled alongside and fired into Shakur's car. Knight was only grazed in the head, but Shakur was hit several times. He died in a hospital several days later.
Although Shakur's killer was never identified, some believe Orlando Anderson, a member of the Los Angeles gang Southside Crips, was responsible. Earlier in the evening, prior to the Mike Tyson-Bruce Seldon heavyweight fight, Anderson had been attacked in the lobby of the MGM Grand Hotel by a group from Death Row Records, including Suge Knight. When a videotape of the attack came to light, Knight, who was out on parole at the time, had to return to prison to serve out a nine-year sentence. Suspecting revenge as a motive, Shakur's mother filed suit against Anderson for her son's death; but the case was never resolved because Anderson was shot to death in May 1998 in a shoot-out outside a Los Angeles car wash.
Shakur had been involved in a string of violent encounters before the shooting in Las Vegas. In 1993, he was convicted of assault and battery after an attack on a music video producer. That same year, a limousine driver claimed that Shakur had severely beaten him. In 1995, while on trial for sexually abusing a young woman in a hotel room, Shakur was shot five times during an alleged robbery attempt at a New York recording studio. He was later convicted of sexual assault. In 1996, he was sent to prison for violating probation and for failure to complete his mandated community service.
Before his death, Shakur was also the defendant in a couple of civil lawsuits. When Ronald Ray Howard shot a Texas state trooper to death after listening to Shakur's songs in 1993, the trooper's widow filed suit against Shakur for manufacturing and distributing music that allegedly incited "imminent lawless action." In October 1994, two 17-year-old kids in Milwaukee killed a police officer in a sniper attack after claiming they had been "geeked up" by Shakur's music.

Valetudinarian:
A person of a weak or sickly constitution; especially : 1 whose chief concern is being or becoming a chronic invalid.
Will complains constantly of his aches, pains, & sniffles; he's truly a valetudinarian.
It's ironic that hypochondriacs & others who are convinced that their health is fragile often outlive their heartier compatriots. It's also ironic that "valetudinarian," a work for someone who is sickly (or at least thinks so) comes from valere, Latin for "to be strong" or "to be well." Most of the English offspring of valere imply having some kind of strength or force - such as "valiant," "prevail," "valor," & "value." But the latin valere also gave rise to valetudo, which refers to one's state of health (good or bad), & by the time that root had given rise to "valetudinarian" in the early 1700s, English-speaking pessimists had given it a decidedly sickly spin.
