Happy October! Friday night was busy, Saturday afternoon we picked Josh up from work, I cooked an enchilada dinner, Pete & I watched a couple TV shows & then Pete headed into his office to get some work done on his PC while I started housework sometime after midnight. Due to the late hour, I only did about 1/3 of what I normally would have done. I did manage however to clean the bathroom counters, dust my alarm clock, cleared & cleaned the kitchen counters, & mopped the utility room. Josh, Kyle, & Pete helped out by removing the A/C window units. I have fresh air, natural light, & all my views back. :) I decided it was time to give the laundry room a good cleaning, so I went
ahead & did that before bed. Sunday morning we drove Josh to work, I
went through the Sunday paper, & then cleaned the house. I got more done this time, & dusted all the bathroom accents, dusted the bedroom walls, fed the cats & dogs, dusted all the video components in the living room, hosed off the front porch, & dusted my office lights. Pete & I were supposed to watch a movie yesterday, but he had work to do (for work ... he's working 7 days a week now?). I made myself lunch & then it was time to do my annual graphics & photo preservation. It took 3 DVDs, but I finally got EVERY photo & graphic off of my PC & stored on discs. I've always done this, if my hard drive ever crashes, I won't lose much. Most importantly, I won't lose EVERYTHING. Some people do backups, I do this. Everything is sorted by date & type onto 29 CDs/DVDs. I produce about 1 DVD a year in graphics & photos. I hadn't done this since 2009, so that's why it took 3 DVDs this time. When that was finally done, I checked out YouTube & downloaded a nice house from the Sims 3 site that I watched a video of a remodel on. I can't wait to play that one! I finally settled down to knit another panel for the afghan while Pete picked Josh up from work. I got about halfway through the panel while watching Roxanne & we got toned out to an electrical fire across the street from my house. After the FD call I came back & finished the panel, then got showered & dressed for dinner out with Pete at BJ's. Nice place, great food & decent prices. After dinner we went to get some work done, then came home & watched the premier of 666 Park Avenue & got to bed about 2 hours later than I would have liked. This morning when I work up there was no one here & that meant SIMS! I played the Investigator career this morning where George (1st generation) lived in a starter single wide in Riverview. His 2nd job as an investigator involved working a case for Hope Carpenter, who he later married. They moved to her place, a beautiful house shown above that is only a 1 bedroom house (problematic when your planning a minimum of 3 generations going at once). There's also a 1 bedroom apartment on the corner of the lot. That's 2 ... now what do I do with the 3rd generation? We'll probably move. They adopted Dumpling, a British Longhair kitten to keep George's Japanese Bobtail company. Being that Hope was elderly, they adopted a grades chool-aged son & named him George the 2nd (2nd generation). George the 2nd is a Capricorn, likes country music, Ratatouille, & the color grey. He has a good sense of humor, is family oriented, & lucky. When he became a teen I gave him the genius trait because it will help him with the family business of investigators. He's only half way through high school & is already half way through level 7 of the Logic skill (needed for the investigator career). He started out by reading the Logic book which got him to level 3 & then bought a chess table that he practices at on weekends. Dumpling & George's cat had a kitten named Chris. Now we're right where we should be. 3 Sims & 3 pets. George has met his future wife in high school & they went to the prom together & were the prom king & queen. George's future wife is Susie Broke. Nope, there are 3 bedrooms at her place, but that's because it's 3 single wides up on blocks. I think we'll stay in the house we're in now, thank you. When George & Susie have a child he or she will be named Michael or Misty. City council meeting tomorrow.
When dedicated and decorated cop Dempsey Cain (Christopher Reeve) falls
prey to a drug dealer's bullet and is paralyzed for life, his brother
(Joe Mantegna) and wife (Kim Cattrall) begin fooling around -- prompting
an enraged Cain to devise a plan to get rid of the pair for good. A $1
million insurance policy further fuels Cain's suspicions and fury, which
ultimately explode in a vengeful -- and mysterious -- crime where
everyone is a suspect.
Adoption is 1 of the highest callings on the planet. It's an awesome thing for people to do who are called to it, but don't go into debt to do it. That's not wise. God doesn't use debt. It's not in Scripture anywhere. it must be that the timing is different than you think if you don't have the money.

Rostrum:
A stage or platform for public speaking.
The candidate stood on a rostrum to address the huge crowd.
The history of "rostrum" owes much to an elaborate party staged by the ancient Romans after 1 of their major maritime victories. After the battle, the Romans decorated the Forum, the center of judicial & public business in Rome, with souvenirs of their big win. Those decorations included beaks from ships they had captured (a beak is the pointed beam on the bow or a warship that's used to ram & sink other ships), which were hung behind the speaker's platform. The Latin name for a ship's beak was rostrum, & the plural rostra eventually came to be used to name any speaker's platform. English-speakers had adopted the word (plural & all) by the 16th century.
