- October 6, 2012 -

I fueled up with an Eggo for breakfast & then started in on the housework. I dusted the bathroom & bedroom lights, fed the cats & dogs, dusted the silk flowers in the dining room, checked the smoke alarms, re-did the load of laundry that Kyle pulled out of the dryer still wet & dumped in a heap (I wish he'd STOP doing that!), & then checked the Brinks alarm. After that it was off to drive Josh to work & then SIMS! :) The only thing that happened yesterday that was out of the ordinary, was I locked down the house & loaded up my rifle when I saw a suspicious person on the street in front of the house. There was someone on a skateboard (normal) riding slowly past the house out on the street (normal) wearing a ... I don't know what it was. It was a bodysuit of some kind SOLID blue from head to toe ... literally. Even the entire face was covered. No eye holes, no holes anywhere. The dogs went nuts & I realized that if this person wanted to break into the house, I would have NO way of describing them. All I could give is approximate height, weight, & whether they were male or female based on voice (if they spoke). Not cool. If you don't want to cause alarm, you don't walk into a bank in a ski mask ... or ride down my street in a bodysuit that makes you impossible to identify. When I loaded up Sims, I worked on the beginning of the indoor hallway & outdoor covered walkway that's attached to the garage. It's going to be much longer than it shows now, this is only the beginning of it. After working on Heart of Texas, I loaded up my #1 downloads game. THIS is a tough game with a constant full house ... 8 Sims & 1 bathroom. Only really 1 bedroom that's big enough to do anything with. I had to make a couple modifications to the upstairs to fit more beds. Kyle event (next to last screenshot), 2nd generation, is a loner, heavy sleeper, sagittarius, likes Soul music, hamburger, & the color violet, is a perfectionist, technophobe, & a genius. He grew up & became a doctor ... on his way to World Renowned Surgeon.
Kyle married Ariane Jernigan & Ariane is currently expecting a child. Efren Jr. (last screenshot), 2nd generation, is hydrophobic, good, hates the outdoors, a pisces who likes classical music, pb&j, & the color lime is also a coward & perceptive. He grew up & joined the political field on his way to becoming Leader of the free world. Efren Jr. married Teresa Sawyer & they're trying to conceive but something is wrong. The 1st time they tried, it didn't work. At least I don't believe it did because I didn't hear the telltale little tune that plays when you successfully conceive. The 2nd time, I wasn't even allowed to try because that option was shaded & it said "There are too many Sims living in this household for Teresa to get pregnant" ... what? There's room for 1 more, which means 1 of 2 things. 1) Teresa IS pregnant & we just don't know it yet (& the little tune failed to play) or 2) Ariane is pregnant with twins. I REALLY hope this isn't the case because there's no one else I can kick out of the household! I really wanted these children to be the same age, but it doesn't look like I'm going to be able to pull that off until I figure out why Teresa can't conceive. The 3rd possibility is a game glitch. My Sim, Elizabeth, has been extremely successful & earned enough happiness points to not only get some cool stuff, but even has managed as a fully mature adult to get her hands on the Age Freeze Potion. She's now immortal & looks great ... forever! She won't be moving out & has fulfilled her lifetime wish of becoming a 5-star Chef. As a perk, she's received the coveted MinusOne Kelvin Refrigerator (shown in the screenshot above Kyle). Elizabeth has been raking in the cash as a 5-Star Chef & has saved up quite a bit of money. She used that money to buy the Bistro & became a partner in the theater also. Hazel event is also a 2nd generation to this household is currently a teen & is a good & perceptive Scorpio who likes Rockabilly, vegetarian grilled salmon, the color hot pink, is a workaholic who has already chosen her future as a Star News Anchor, & is a computer whiz. Back in real life (outside the Matrix), I have an amazing pork roast in the slow cooker & dinner tonight is going to be AMAZING! Milligan Water meeting Monday.

Best way to attack a mortgage is to just attack it. Pay extra. Mortgage accelerator programs charge you for some methodology to prepay your mortgage. The biweekly mortgage is an example of an accelerator-type program where you pay half a payment every 2 weeks & it pays a 30-year mortgage off in 22.8 years on average. Why would you pay somebody $400 to do that? You don't need to pay them, because you can do it yourself. you just pay an extra 1/12 a payment every month on principal.

Cobras aren't really dancing when snake charmers seemingly lure them from baskets with music. Snakes are frightened by moving animals & objects. That's why the snake rises out of a basket & appears to dance when the snake charmer's instrument sways back & forth.

Country superstars Faith Hill and Tim McGraw wed (1996):
Following the 2008 wedding of hip-hop titan Jay-Z and R&B goddess Beyonce, there can be little doubt which pairing of married stars ranks as the music world's greatest power couple. But if marital longevity is factored into the formula in addition to star power and sheer commercial might, then Mr. Carter and Ms. Knowles would have to take a back seat to Faith Hill and Tim McGraw. However long the marriage of those two country superstars may yet last, their wedding on this day in 1996 created one of the most commercially successful pairings the world of popular music has ever seen.
Born just five months apart in May and September of 1967, respectively, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill followed similar paths to stardom and arrived there at nearly the exact same time. Both were raised in the South—McGraw in Delhi, Louisiana, and Hill (born Audrey Faith Perry) in Ridgeland, Mississippi—and both left college short of graduation to pursue their careers in music in Nashville in the late 1980s. In 1993, both released a debut album, though only Hill's was an unqualified success. Take Me As I Am reached #7 on the country album charts on the strength of the #1 country single, "Wild One," and Hill was honored as the Top New Female Vocalist at the 1993 Academy of Country Music Awards. McGraw's breakthrough came only slightly later, with his sophomore album Not A Moment Too Soon, which topped both the country album chart and the Billboard 200 pop album chart, yielding two #1 country singles in "Don't Take The Girl" and the title track, "Not A Moment Too Soon." McGraw, in turn, was awarded the Top New Male Vocalist Award at the 1994 Academy of Country Music Awards in addition to taking home Album of the Year honors.
Two years later, both Faith Hill and Tim McGraw were well-established superstars when they chose to team up on their "Spontaneous Combustion" tour in early 1996. Already engaged to another man at the outset of the tour, opening act Faith Hill had a new fiancée in headliner Tim McGraw before the tour came to an end. The two were wed in a small family ceremony in McGraw's native Louisiana on October 6, 1996, and according to published reports, they have not spent more than three consecutive days apart since.
Collectively, they have also had an astonishing 12 #1 albums and 25 #1 singles on the country charts since their marriage, in addition to three daughters.

Is it polite to ask a guest to do the honor of saying grace, or is it better to say it yourself?
It's polite to ask, but do so before everyone is assembled around the table. this gives the guest a chance to decline if he would be uncomfortable saying the prayers, without appearing rude by refusing in front of other guests. It also gives him time to collect his thoughts if he accepts your offer. When a minister or rabbi is among your dinner guests, he should always be asked to say grace. Of course, you should never force anyone to recite a group grace or even say "amen," especially if it's not part of their religious background to do so.

Xenial:
Of, relating to, or constituting hospitality or relations between host & guest.
Relationships between members of the different clans ranged from xenial to xenophobic.
On may 28, 1998, 13-year-old Alex Carter of Charleston, West Virginia, stepped up to the microphone at the Scripps Howard National Spelling Bee. If he spelled "xenial" correctly, he would advance to the nationally televised finals. Alex didn't recognize "xenial," so he asked what language it came from. The answer gave him a clue. "It was Greek," said Alex, "so I figured it would be 'xe' instead of 'ze.'" Smart kid! "Xenial" derives from xenios, which means the same thing as "xenial."
