Sitting here listening to a video from Tommy Jordan to the politicians. That man thinks like we do, we like him. I sent him a private message yesterday recounting a story of something we did with our son a couple years ago & Tommy thought it was great. Wow, not only did Tommy respond, but he approved! I feel so special! Of course since we're not "friends", it's probably rude for me to refer to him by his 1st name. Sorry about that. I should probably refer to him as Mr. Jordan. I usually try to have better manners. :) Busy day yesterday as I knew it would be. I checked my My AT&T page, had a breakfast sausage, cleaned out one of the dresser drawers, mopped my office, blew the dust out of my knitting machine, & swept my closet. After that I checked eBay & then headed out to pick up pizza for our business meeting. Either Domino's changed their pan pizza, or they gave me the wrong "version" of their pan pizza. Do they have more than 1 kind? I would hate to think they changed it. It was OK, but I really like the way it was much better than this new one I got last night. If this is the new way they do it, they may have lost a customer. Their pan pizza was the only thing I ever got from there. I used to be a manager in a Domino's ... I was very loyal to the company all these years even though I haven't worked there in over 20 years, but don't mess with my pan pizza! We had a better than average turnout at the meeting last night & all went well. LCFD fundrasier at Milligan Water building Saturday @ 4!
Anytime we try to advise our parents on anything, we run into the "Powdered Butt Syndrome." Once someone has powdered your butt, they really don't want your advice on anything. It doesn't matter if you're 86 & they're 106, they still don't want your advice.
Color-code your clothing. If you group your clothes by garment & then by color you'll be able to quickly see your wardrobe & you'll be less likely to buy duplicate clothes. (HA! And everyone here thought I was just OCD!)
Don't get excited, but they now make __________ in an extra-__________ container.
The deadliest earthquake to hit the San Francisco
area since 1906 strikes at 5:04 p.m. and lasts for 15 seconds. The
quake measured 7.1 on the Richter scale, and its aftermath was witnessed
on live television by millions of people watching the third game of the
World Series of baseball between the San Francisco Giants and the
Oakland Athletics, held at Candlestick Park in San Francisco. The tremor
hit moments before the start of the game, and sportscasters were soon
performing the duties of news anchors as they reported on the resulting
pandemonium in the stadium. The earthquake killed a total of 63 people,
while more than 3,000 others were injured and more than 100,000
buildings were damaged.
Grimalkin:
A domestic cat; especially : an old female cat.
The family grimalkin, dreaming, perhaps, of mousing days long past, twitched her tail as she dozed contentedly on the windowsill.
In the opening scene of Macbeth, 1 of the 3 witches planning to meet with Macbeth suddenly announces, "I come, Graymalkin." The witch is responding to the summons of her familiar, or guardian spirit, which is embodied in the form of a cat. Shakespeare's "graymalkin" literally means "gray cat": "gray" is of course the color, & the "malkin" was a nickname for Matilda or Maud that came to be used in dialect as a general name for a cat (& sometimes a hare), & for an untidy woman as well. By the 1630s, "graymalkin" had been altered to the modern spelling of "grimalkin."
