Good evening! Let me start by saying thank you to all of my readers. This month has broken a record for page views with over 2,500 page views so far this month. It's comforting to know I'm not just sitting her talking to myself. LOL! Yesterday I made biscuits & gravy for Kyle & I for breakfast, went through the mail, hand knitted for a bit, & then went to work cleaning the house. I cleaned the bathroom counter, changed the bedding, dusted the dining room lights, cleaned the kitchen sink, changed the afghan on the sofa, swept &
mopped the utility room, processed another book out of my inbox, & fed the pets. I took the dogs out, surfed eBay, turned my office TV onto the malt shop classics station for some background music, check for more daily deals & still the same ol's stuff, had a banana for lunch & then Pete & I went to work building the Website for our new business. Personally, I think it looks really nice. :) My Sim-self made a peanut butter & jelly sandwich for lunch, worked on her inventing skill, spent time with the pets, watched the romance channel for a bit, showered, made goopy cabonera for dinner, & then headed off to bed. Back IRL, this morning started out with a call from Pete's boss ... service call at Grapevine mall for a crashed computer in one of the stores there. I went along for the ride since I've never seen that mall before. He went to work & I wandered aimlessly. For all that wondering, I barely saw a fraction of the mall. That place is HUGE! I finally wandered into a store when I came across a bookstore called Books-A-Million. I spent quite a while in there & amassed quite the pile of books & magazines. When I finally finished shopping, I headed towards the checkout. On my way, I passed a Dr. Who table. Aw crap! Kyle loves Dr. Who. I started looking at all the cool stuff & 1 by 1 started swapping out my books & magazines for Dr. Who stuff for Kyle. When I was done I had only ONE book left for myself (Big Book of Cross-Stitch Designs). Damnit! On my way to the checkout (again), I passed a Big Bang Theory table. Aw Come on! I resisted everything but a Friendship Algorithm t-shirt for myself. I FINALLY made it to the checkout & the total came to $110+. ::: Loud & squeaky sucking air noise ::: Well, that's it. Yesterday was payday & I'm broke. It's going to be 2 weeks before I see money again. Sonofa ... ::: sigh ::: I CANNOT be allowed into a bookstore or Michael's unsupervised. EVER! This is why. I wandered back out into the mall, completely broke & wondering how I could have spent every dime I had within less than 24 hours after getting paid. I wandered back towards the store Pete was working in when he sent me a text message that said "You'd really like this store, it's all EMS, firefighter, & military stuff." O-M-G ... REALLY?! I head over to the store & ended up with a pile of stuff on the counter. I looked at Pete & explained that I was kinda broke, would he mind buying this stuff for me? He did ... thank you! I got a FD cuzzi, garden flag, bumper sticker, keychain, & dice for my rear view mirror. When Pete was done working we headed to the food court to grab Sbarro (our favorite mall food). Once we left the mall, I asked him if we could go to Michael's because I had been planning a trip there for 6 days now. I need 1 skein of Red Heart White yarn for an afghan I'm in the middle of & they were also having a sale on Caron Simply Soft yarn (one of my favorites). He agreed & he bought me 1 skein of Red Heart White yarn & 5 skeins of Caron Simply Soft Baby Brights Ombre (beautiful colors)! The FD got toned out to a med call & Pete & I finally got home & I finished putting everything away by 7:p. I took the dogs out & finished the bead banner I was working on & then planned the next one & got everything ready for the next one. My Sim-self started her day by going to the weekly event, the Great cat Roundup w/ Sim-Pete, Sim-Bella, & Sim-Smokey. Pete left early & when my Sim-self & the cats came home she made pancakes for brunch, worked on her nectar making, & spent time with the pets. Back IRL, Easter is tomorrow.

How many languages can you speak? Probably not as many as linguist Harold Williams. He started with Latin at the age of 7 & proceeded to teach himself to speak more & more languages. By the time he died, he was fluent in 58 languages & dialects.

How many of you know that this year Easter & Passover fall the same week? Interesting. There's a joint celebration on Fairfax Ave. to honor that. The Easter bunny shows up w/ a basket of dyed matzo balls. -Johnny Carson 1987

In the familiar musical, Man of La Mancha, a medieval knight meets a woman of the street, a prostitute. She's being validated in her lifestyle by all of the people in her life. But this poet knight sees something else in her, something beautiful & lovely. He gives her a new name - Dulcinea - a new name associated with a new paradigm. At 1st she utterly denies it; her old scripts are overpowering. But he makes continual deposits of unconditional love & gradually it penetrates her scripting. Little by little, she begins to change her lifestyle. She believes it & she acts from her new paradigm.

Kids & teenagers suffer more than half of all fireworks-related injuries, & boys are nearly twice as likely to be hurt as girls. Leave the lighting & setting to adults or, better yet, professionals.

President Obama announces auto industry shakeup (2009):
On this day in 2009, U.S. President Barack Obama issues an ultimatum to struggling American automakers General Motors (GM) and Chrysler: In order to receive additional bailout loans from the government, he says, the companies need to make dramatic changes in the way they run their businesses. The president also announced a set of initiatives intended to assist the struggling U.S. auto industry and boost consumer confidence, including government backing of GM and Chrysler warranties, even if both automakers went out of business. In December 2008, GM (the world's largest automaker from the early 1930s to 2008) and Chrysler (then America's third-biggest car company) accepted $17.4 billion in federal aid in order to stay afloat. At that time, the two companies had been hit hard by the global economic crisis and slumping auto sales; however, critics charged that their problems had begun several decades earlier and included failures to innovate in the face of foreign competition and issues with labor unions, among other factors.
President Obama's auto task force determined that Chrysler was too focused on its sport utility vehicle (SUV) lines and was too small a company to survive on its own. In his March 30 announcement, Obama gave Chrysler a month to complete a merger with Italian car maker Fiat or another partner. Shortly before its April 30 deadline, Chrysler said it had reached agreements with the United Auto Workers union as well as its major creditors; however, on April 30, Obama announced that Chrysler, after failing to come to an agreement with some of its smaller creditors, would file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, then form a partnership with Fiat. The move made Chrysler the first big automaker to file for bankruptcy and attempt to reorganize since Studebaker did so in 1933.
As for General Motors, according to the conditions Obama announced on March 30, the auto giant had 60 days to undergo a major restructuring, including cutting costs sharply and getting rid of unprofitable product lines and dealerships. Over the next two months, GM said it would shutter thousands of dealerships and a number of plants, as well as phase out such brands as Pontiac. Nevertheless, on June 1, 2009, GM, which was founded in 1908, declared bankruptcy. At the time, the company reported liabilities of $172.8 billion and assets of $82.3 billion, making it the fourth-biggest U.S. bankruptcy in history.
