Good afternoon! I had an amazing day yesterday. I crocheted for a bit, talked to Pete on the phone, then went to work cleaning the tub, dusting the bathroom lights & dining room wall decor, cleaned the stove & TVs, mopped the kitchen, dusted my office chair, fed the pets, & swept the dining room. I sorted the mail, checked for daily deals but there was nothing better than the one I found previously which would have never worked because it was too low of a price to make a profit off of, turned the TV on for
background noise, poked around on eBay & bid on some things, made a cheeseburger for lunch, took the dogs out, went to work on my eBay business & listed a bunch of stuff, checked facebook & took my game turns, delegated cleaning of the ceiling fans to Kyle, checked out the Staples app on my iPad Mini & realized it's not made for the iPad so I deleted it & instead got the OfficeMax app & found a good sale on a box of printer paper, & then the rest of the evening ... amazing! I quilt crocheted until I ran out of white yarn. I'm stuck on that project until I can get to Michael's & get another skein. I also want to pick up some Caron Simply Soft while I'm there because it's on sale this week & I love that stuff! I'm
waiting for the weekend before going though because I really can't be trusted in the yarn section of Michael's unsupervised. I know myself too well. It doesn't matter HOW much yarn I have, I ALWAYS want more ... much more. Pete has to be there or bad things will happen. LOL! Well, bad for our budget ... great for me because I'd have a truckload of new yarn. :D Since I was stuck on my quilt crochet project & Pete wasn't home yet, I decided to pull out my hand knit project. It was almost finished & I was very excited about getting it done. I don't know what's more exciting ... A) Finishing a project, B) Planning the next project, or C) Beginning a new project. Well, I got to enjoy the satisfaction & excitement of finishing a project last night. My Blue Frost Bernat Camo sweater (2nd pic)! I love it! It was a starter sweater since it had been a while since I had knitted one & was out of practice. Very easy ... the next one will have a stitch pattern, but I haven't decided which one yet. Cables? Lace? Colorwork? Other? I did choose the yarn though. It's going to be Ruby Bernat Satin Sparkle that I bought last week at Fiber Circle in Farmersville. 1 of the skins has a free afghan pattern included. YAY! Soft, glittery, & beautiful! No matter what kind of stitch pattern I choose, it's sure to be incredible. I can't wait to start it tonight! I had much more fun than my Sim-self for a change. She worked on her handiness skill, spent time with the pets, sculpted (she had some creative, productive fun too ... but I had more!), showered, spent time with Sim-Pete who for the 1st time rejected her woohoo advances, so she made spaghetti for dinner & headed off to bed. Sim-Bella caught another critter ... this time a turtle which is in an aquarium next to the pet squirrel that she caught previously (3rd pic). Back IRL I took the dogs out this morning & started another brand new project ... a new bead banner! This one is going to be a pretty design that originated as 2 little flowers but morphed into just a pretty pattern by the time I was done with it. As usual, I'll post a pic when it's finished. I'm finally using some of the foil hole beads that I've been buying in small quantity now & then. The FD got toned out to a possible electrical fire & here we are. My Sim-self cleaned the house, went to the consignment shop & gave them 3 items to sell; a photo she took, an item she invented, & a bottle of wine she made. Of course she bought stuff too ... some metals & gems to have cut & smelted & either add to her collection or return to the consignment shop to resell after they've been cut &/or smelted & she also bought some skill books. She then went home, mailed off the gems & metals to be processed & paid the bills. Back IRL, Easter is on Sunday.

About 1 in 5 people (including myself), suffer from uncontrollable sneezing in response to various stimuli like looking at bright lights (for me it's sunlight when I 1st step outside). Scientists discovered that these people suffer from Autosomal Dominant Compelling Helioopthalmic Outburst, or ACHOO syndrome.

China is the world's largest producer & consumer of potatoes, & the US isn't likely to "ketchup," no matter how many fries we order with our Big Macs!

Difference between people who exercise initiative & those who don't is literally the difference between night & day. I'm not talking about a 25-50% difference in effectiveness; I'm talking about a 5k+% difference, particularly if they're smart, aware, & sensitive to others.

Drowning person is usually unable to yell or splash. Keep an eye on kids who aren't strong swimmers; sudden silence may be the only sign they're in trouble.

Duke lacrosse team suspended following sexual assault allegations (2006):
Duke University officials suspend the men’s lacrosse team for two games following allegations that team members sexually assaulted a stripper hired to perform at a party. Three players were later charged with rape. The case became a national scandal, impacted by issues of race, politics and class. In April 2007, all charges against the young men were dropped due to lack of credible evidence and the district attorney was eventually disbarred for his mishandling of the case.
On March 13, 2006, the Duke lacrosse team held a party at an off-campus house and hired two strippers to perform. The following day, one of the dancers, Crystal Mangum, told police in Durham, North Carolina, that three white lacrosse players forced her into a bathroom and raped her. On March 23, the team’s 46 white members provided police with DNA samples and were photographed. On March 28, Duke suspended the team for two games; soon after, their coach was forced to resign and the school’s president cancelled the rest of the lacrosse season. On April 10, defense attorneys revealed that DNA test results showed no match between the players and the accuser. Nevertheless, Durham County District Attorney Mike Nifong, who labeled the players “hooligans,” vowed to continue investigating the case. On April 17, Collin Finnerty and Reade Seligmann were charged with rape, sexual offense and kidnapping. On May 12, defense attorneys announced a second round of tests found no evidence of any player’s DNA on the accuser’s body or clothing on the night of the party.  On May 15, a third lacrosse player, David Evans, the team captain, was indicted on charges of rape, sexual offense and kidnapping. All three players maintained their innocence and had cell phone records and time-stamped photographs to demonstrate they couldn’t have committed the crimes.
The case raised issues of class and race because the accuser was a poor, black, single mother from the Durham area and the three lacrosse players were out-of-staters from affluent backgrounds. Nifong, who was running for district attorney when the rape allegations were first made, was accused of aggressively pursuing the case to gain favor with Durham’s African-American community. Additionally, the case sparked a national debate about the behavior of college athletes.
In late December 2006, the accuser altered several key details of her story and Nifong dropped the rape charges but kept the kidnapping and sexual offense counts in place. On December 28, the North Carolina State Bar Association filed a prosecutorial misconduct complaint against Nifong. In January 2007, Nifong, facing growing criticism, asked North Carolina Attorney General Roy Cooper to take over the case. In April of that year, the attorney general announced Evans, Finnerty and Seligmann had been wrongly accused and dismissed all charges against them. Nifong was heavily criticized for his rush to judgment and his heavy reliance on the faulty testimony of the accuser. He was disbarred in June and later convicted of criminal contempt for making misleading statements to a judge. The three accused players received an undisclosed financial settlement from Duke University and later filed a lawsuit against Nifong, the city of Durham and the investigating police officers.

I have a great doctor. Mandrake Curvy. You've heard me talk about him. A little weird. He's the only doctor I know who has a wishing well in the waiting room. -Johnny Carson 1986
