Every Thursday I look back on the disaster that was Wednesday. You think eventually I'd get Wednesday empty enough that I can actually FINISH the day. The strange thing is nothing went wrong yesterday, nothing came up, no FD calls, nothing. It SHOULD have been a perfect day & I should have breezed through it & gotten everything done with no problem. Definitely a sign that I needed to rewrite the schedule again & move something from Wednesday to Tuesday. Nope, not yet. Maybe next Wednesday. I'm nothing if not persistent. At least we got to watch Dallas last night. I love that show!
We have 3 dogs ... a chihuahua that we bought & she's the most spoiled little princess I've ever seen. Her name is Xoco. Then we ended up rescuing another chihuahua that was outside in the cold, lonely, scared, & hungry ... her name is Browser. Then Eve & Josh bring home a dog & swear they're going to take care of her. Yeah, well ... you would have thought they were 5 years old the way they were begging & promising to feed her, walk her, & train her. Did they? NOPE! So now I ended up with a THIRD dog ... she's an American Bulldog / Pit Bull mix & her name is Jostelyn which is perfect for her because it means "Little Goth" & she's a black dog. When I go out back to relax on the back porch, I bring Jostelyn & Browser. Jostelyn watches over Browser so well! She'll follow her all over the back yard, standing by off to the side & constantly scanning all over to make sure the yard is safe from predators. Just like a bodyguard, moving when Browser moves, always watching, never too far away, never in the way. It's the most amazing thing I've ever seen. Kyle's 16th birthday Saturday!
A car is the largest item we buy that goes down in value. If you crunch the numbers, you'll see that a new car loses 60% of its value in the 1st 4 years. That means a $28,000 vehicle will become an $11,000 vehicle while you're still making payments on the thing! You might as well throw $100 out the window every week. You may not be charged interest on your loan, but you're still losing money.
Always treat servers with respect. Leaving a generous tip doesn't make up for ordering someone around or treating them dismissively. While tipping augments servers' incomes & rewards them for a job well done, treating them kindly is just as important.
On this day in 2008, a girl named Vivienne Marcheline and a
boy named Knox Leon are born to actors Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie at
Fondation Lenval hospital in Nice, France. The twins’ arrival made
headlines around the world, as their celebrity parents had been a source
of media fascination since their romantic relationship became public in
2005. In addition to the twins, the high-profile couple, nicknamed
“Brangelina” by the media, have two sons--Maddox, adopted from Cambodia,
and Pax, adopted from Vietnam; a daughter, Zahara, adopted from
Ethiopia; and a biological daughter, Shiloh, who was born in Namibia.
Jolie and Pitt appeared on the August 18, 2008, cover of People
magazine with the twins. The couple was paid a reported $14 million
(which they donated to charity) for the cover image and a 19-page photo
spread inside the magazine.
Jolie, born June 4, 1975, is the daughter of actor Jon Voight, with whom she appeared, at age seven, in the movie Lookin’ To Get Out (1982). Jolie won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for Girl, Interrupted (1999) and became world-famous for her starring role in the blockbuster action hit Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001). She also appeared in such films as The Good Shepherd (2006) and A Mighty Heart (2006). From 1996 to 1999, the multi-tattooed actress was married to British actor Jonny Lee Miller (Trainspotting), with whom she co-starred in the 1995 film Hackers. Jolie had a well-publicized second marriage to actor Billy Bob Thornton (Sling Blade) that lasted from 2000 to 2003. The two reportedly wore vials of each other’s blood around their necks.
Pitt, who was born December 18, 1963, rose to fame in the early 1990s with roles in such films as Thelma & Louise (1991), A River Runs Through It (1992) and Kalifornia (1993). He went on to build a long list of starring credits in a number of acclaimed films, including Fight Club (1999), Ocean’s Eleven (2001) and Babel (2006). In 2000, Pitt married actress Jennifer Aniston (most famous for her role on the long-running TV sitcom Friends) in a lavish ceremony in Malibu, California. The couple divorced in 2005 and Pitt became romantically involved with Jolie, his co-star in Mr. & Mrs. Smith
(2005), a film about a pair of married assassins. As soon as news of
their relationship broke, “Brangelina” received extensive media coverage
as they traveled around the world making movies, raising their
ever-expanding brood and involving themselves in a variety of
humanitarian causes.

In what country was a search engine named Goojje launched in 2010?
In China, after Google threatened to quit China over censorship issues.
Goojje is a clever play on the name Google. In Mandarin, the “gle” in
Google sounds like the word for “brother,” while the “jje” in Goojje
sounds like “sister.”

Primordial:
1*a: 1st created or developed : primeval. b: Existing in or persisting from the beginning. c: Primitive. 2: Fundamental or primary.
All life on Earth supposedly came from a primordial ooze in existence many millions of years ago.
The history of "primordial" began when the Latin words primus (meaning "first") & ordiri (meaning "to begin") came together to form primordium, the Latin word for "origin." When it entered English in the 14th century, "primordial" was used in the general sense of "primeval." Early on, there were hints that "primordial" would lend itself well to discussions of Earth's origins. Take, for instance, this passage from a 1398 translation of an encyclopedia called On the Properties of Things: "The virtu of God made primordial mater, in the whiche as it were in massy thinge the foure elementis were ... nought ddistnguishd." Nowadays, this primordial matter is often referred to in evolutionary theory as "primordial soup," a mixture of organic molecules from wwhich life on Earth originated.
