Good morning & happy Monday! Just because it's Monday doesn't mean it has to stink. Think back on your weekend & let the god memories carry you through your work day today. Mine was busy, but good. I got the peas transferred out into the yard & with any luck they're still there (kritters) & yesterday Pete, Kyle, & I went to Half Price books where I was good & didn't buy much, but after I got home, the need to make room on the bookshelf for the one book I did buy caused a couple hour project of going through the books on my bookshelf. It seems I haven't been through them in a LONG time. I cleaned out SO many of them. I have a very large eBay pile to go out now. Besides all the books, I also have more eBay stock on the way, so it should be an interesting time coming up. I'm finally getting my business started & getting my items up there for sale. I just may re-open my eBay store someday soon. :) Besides books, while at Half Price Books Kyle found some really cool pairs of reading glasses. They're super-thin height-wise. I never have to take them off, bifocals right here! I can see everything & when I want to read, I have this thin area available for reading. They're perfect for what I needed! It also helps me keep my head up while on the PC. Apparently I used to hang my head. Not anymore ... if I want to see the screen I have to pick my head up. To let you know how thin these are ... as I'm looking at my monitor, I can't see the WHOLE monitor. I can see 75% of it top to bottom, but that last 25% just won't fit in the range of the glasses. Either the top bars of the browser are fuzzy & out of range, or the bottom bar for Windows is fuzzy & out of range. I like the case for these though, super slim & hard case. Won't get crushed in a purse or pocket & barely take up any room. Kinda like the ones pictured, but not as fancy ... these were only $4/pr. City council meeting / LCFD BBQ / Maintenance night tomorrow.

Britain's Prince William weds Kate Middleton (2011):
On this day in 2011, Great Britain’s Prince William marries his longtime girlfriend Catherine Elizabeth “Kate” Middleton at Westminster Abbey in London. Some 1,900 guests attended the ceremony, while another 1 million spectators lined the streets of London and an estimated 2 billion people around the world watched on television.
The 29-year-old bride and 28-year-old groom, second in line (behind his father) to the throne, met in 2001 as students at the University of St. Andrews in Fife, Scotland. Middleton, the eldest of three children, was raised in the English village of Bucklebury. Her parents, former flight attendants, became millionaires running a successful party-supply business. Middleton majored in art history at St. Andrews and went on to do a stint as an accessories buyer for a British clothing chain. Prince William, the elder of two sons born to Charles, Prince of Wales and Diana, Princess of Wales, embarked on a military career after college, eventually becoming a helicopter search-and-rescue pilot with the Royal Air Force (RAF). His parent’s lavish 1981 wedding was a media sensation witnessed by a global television estimated as high as 750 million; however, in December 1992, it was announced the couple was separating. The couple, who publicly admitted to infidelities during their marriage, officially divorced in 1996. Diana died in a car crash in Paris the following year.
After dating for eight years, William and Kate became engaged in October 2010 while vacationing in Kenya, Africa. Their engagement was publicly announced the following month, on November 16, ending years of media speculation about whether they ever would tie the knot—and immediately kicking off a new wave of speculation about the wedding details, including the guest list and the bride’s dress.
At their Friday morning marriage ceremony on April 29, the bride wore a gown designed by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen, a British fashion house, while the groom donned the scarlet tunic of an Irish Guards officer. Middleton’s younger sister, Pippa, served as maid of honor, while William’s brother, Prince Harry, was best man. The nuptials were presided over by the archbishop of Canterbury, with world leaders and celebrities including Elton John and David and Victoria Beckham in attendance. After the ceremony, the newlyweds kissed twice on a Buckingham Palace balcony before hundreds of thousands of cheering fans. Overhead, RAF planes made a ceremonial flyby. An afternoon reception at the palace presided over by Queen Elizabeth for some 650 guests followed, and that evening, Prince Charles hosted a dinner dance at the palace for 300 people.
The couple, who once married became the duke and duchess of Cambridge, honeymooned in the Seychelles, before returning to Wales, where William resumed his duties as a helicopter pilot.

“Coming out” episode of Ellen (1997):
On this day in 1997, in a widely publicized episode of the ABC sitcom Ellen, TV character Ellen Morgan (played by Ellen DeGeneres) announces that she is gay.
DeGeneres, a former stand-up comedian who was born on January 26, 1958, became part of the ensemble cast of the ABC series These Friends of Mine in 1994. She soon emerged as the undisputed star of the show, which landed in the top 20 best-rated programs for the 1994-95 season. It would return in 1995, after being renamed Ellen. With her sitcom success, DeGeneres seemed to be following in the footsteps of stand-up comics such as Tim Allen and Jerry Seinfeld. Like them, DeGeneres soon published a bestselling memoir, My Point--And I Do Have One (1995).
In the fall of 1996, word leaked out that the character of Ellen Morgan, a bookstore manager, might acknowledge that she was a lesbian, making Ellen the first prime-time sitcom to feature a gay leading character. Over the next six months, ABC relentlessly encouraged the hype, with DeGeneres herself fueling the fire by joking in television interviews that her character was “Lebanese” and resisting attempts to clarify her own sexuality. A week before the episode aired, DeGeneres made a well-publicized “coming out” of her own, appearing on the cover of TIME magazine under the headline “Yep, I’m Gay.” An interview with Diane Sawyer on ABC’s 20/20 ran on April 25, during the all-important “sweeps week” for the network.
An estimated 42 million viewers watched April 30th’s special hour-long episode, which featured cameo appearances by Laura Dern (as the woman Ellen falls for), Oprah Winfrey (as the therapist to whom she makes her revelation), k.d. lang, Demi Moore, Billy Bob Thornton and Dwight Yoakam. Later episodes of Ellen failed to hold audiences, however, and by the end of the 1997 season the show was canceled due to low ratings. DeGeneres went on to star in the short-lived CBS sitcom The Ellen Show and provide the voice for a lead character in the acclaimed 2003 animated blockbuster Finding Nemo. In September 2003, she launched a syndicated talk show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, which won four Daytime Emmy Awards in its first season. From 2004 to 2008, DeGeneres picked up four straight Daytime Emmy Awards for Best Talk Show Host. She has also served as a host for both the Emmy Awards and the Academy Awards.
In addition to her thriving career, DeGeneres has also made headlines for her love life, including a well publicized relationship with the actress Anne Heche, who later broke up with DeGeneres and married a man. In May 2008, shortly after the California Supreme Court overturned a ban on same-sex marriage, DeGeneres announced she would marry her longtime girlfriend, the actress Portia De Rossi. The two were wed at their Beverly Hills home on August 16 of that same year.

Hang lots of pictures of Renoir's naked fat ladies on the walls of your bedroom & bathroom, & you'll feel slim as a supermodel.

Just because the nerd keeps the checkbook doesn't mean he or she gets to make all the financial decisions. In a marriage, those decisions should be made together with input from both the husband & wife. Remember, God didn't unite some kind of joint business venture. He made you as 1 - together. When you do a budget each month, you should both sit down & come to a mature, reasonable & respectful agreement on where the money's going.

Ramify:
1: To branch out. 2a: To cause to branch out. b: To separate into divisions.
The rise of cable television ramified the viewing population, creating ever smaller segments for an ever growing array of programming choices.
"Ramify" has been part of the English language since the 15th century & is an offshoot of ramus, the Latin word for "branch." English acquired several scientific words from ramus, including "biramous" ("having 2 branches") & the now obsolete "ramage," meaning "untamed" or "wild." "Ramage" originated in falconry - a term applied to young hawks that had begun to fly from branch to branch in trees. "Ramify" started out as a scientific word, referring to branching parts of plants & trees, & later to veins & nerves. But it soon branched out into nonscientific & even figurative uses, as in "ideas that ramify throughout society."
